I live in Oklahoma.  Learning how to deal with the extreme weather is our way of life.  If it's not heat and humidity, it's crazy high winds, heavy thunderstorms, freezing rain, etc.  There are only like 8 nice days a year here, so when we get one, everyone packs into the lakes.  So the seasons don't matter much to me.   Though I always welcome a change in scenery.  

September is fickle for me . I dont know what to expect . October is usually pretty dang good .

But when you find them it can get you warmed up quickly. 

I'm ready for the fall!  My summer LMB fishing has been largely a bust.  I'm looking forward to transitioning to fly fishing for trout as well as LMB.

I don't usually fish much past the middle of October because I hunt starting in November and old man winter (ice/snow) usually comes in December.  But from about Labor Day until mid October the fishing is pretty dang good and there's a lot less people on the water too.  We should start to get much cooler nights and the humidity isn't jungle-like as it was during the summer months.  I'm getting sick of blasting my AC and watering the grass all the time, that's for sure.

This past week we've had 5 days above 95 yesterday the heat index was 107 at one point which is very high for here when it's almost september. Looks like starting next week the temps are mostly high 70s with lows in the mid 50s...still need some rain tho.

The past few years September has been pretty good here. I can’t say the same for October. During the first or second week it’s like somebody flipped a switch. You’d swear these lake didn’t have any fish in them. 

This is our forecast for tonight/tomorrow. It still looks like summer here, and this cold front won’t stick around long, but it’s definitely coming sooner rather than later here. 
And for those of you stateside, that’s about 42 Fahrenheit for tonight ??.

Your high tomorrow is going to be our low tonight. Tomorrow for us - 93 (that's 34 for you Canucks.)

 

I have to dress differently for each season, but find them all enjoyable.  

In Jersey, October was our bow-hunting season, when bucks were in the rut!

During midwinter we had a blast ice-fishing, complete with tip-ups, ice skates and a lean-to. 

Now living in Florida, I welcome the midsummer vacancies during midday on Lake Kissimmee

I'd rather it be Summer. I'm like others in that the respite from the heat is nice but it means Winter is on the way. I detest Winter.
