Do you think the one missing paint is a bigger size of the flash minnow? All 3 being Lucky Craft with the 2 on the left being repaints perhaps

Could be - the basic shape is the same, lip shape is the same - though the 3rd down left one is larger - and it seems to have the same type of rattle-channel. Though the paint (where there is paint) appears WAY duller than normal for LC lures.

2nd down left one is a different shape, lip placement, etc.

I can live with that - long as things are close...though it'd be nice to be exact.

I have that exact bait (size/color). I just went out and weighed a couple and they weigh just at or slightly over 3/8 oz. with hooks, rings, etc. despite what the catalog weight states...so it's a match

So LAST ONE - no markings at all on it

2-3/4" 3/16oz - has rattles

If that is a Rapala knockoff it’s a darn good one.

The CDO7 is 2-3/4” but 1/4 oz (Close enough to 3/16)

The F07 is 2-3/4” but only 1/8 oz (which is also close enough to 3/16)

As for the color:

There seems to be a lot of variations of the clown color in the “original” rapala baits. Rapala’s website was of little help. I couldn’t find that particular variation of clown for the countdown or floaters. However, I did find it for the husky jerks. They have it listed as “clown”. Looks like your color:

This is what was listed as “clown” with the original floaters:

Here’s a link to an Irish website which has the color listed as “silver clown”. It’s different from yours as the chartreuse also runs on the belly of that bait. https://fishingtackleireland.ie/products/rapala-countdown-9cm

Not sure if/how this can help but hopefully someone can use this info to get you an answer.

Your bait has about the same specs as the size 7 countdown and floaters. Also has what looks like an identical paintjob to the clown pattern I found with the husky jerks. Even that “scale” pattern right below the chartreuse. I can’t think of what else that could possibly be besides maybe a special edition/European edition with rattles? I haven’t been able to find information about any of that online though. Or just a very very good knockoff.

Edit: I just realized the Husky Jerk has rattles. So could it be your measurements are a bit off? The HJ06 is 2.5” and 1/8 oz but has rattles.

We're gonna skip the 'knockoff' (left, second down) and the really paint damaged one (left, third down)...it's missing about 1/2 the paint.

Just checked all my Husky Jerks. Both old and new all say 'Rapala' on the lip, though you have to hold it up into the light to see it on the smaller ones. That should be the defining factor in this case from the sounds of it. Beyond that, the smaller ones are exactly 2.75" if you only measure body and not the wire eyes/hangers. As for weight, with hooks, they are just over 3/16 oz. (~.194 oz) and they do rattle.

I even held it under my lighted magnifier - no imprint at all on the lip

This is 3/16 with no hooks

Hmmm - Rapala's site says the HJ-06 is 2-1/2"

I don't this this is a Rapala - though the body shape and lip placement look right for a Husky Jerk

Very interesting.  Regarding weights, are you weighing lure bodies and trying to compare with published weights of complete lures, with hooks?

Most of these are without hooks (see 'group pic' on previous page) so it's the base weight. If one had hooks, I 'rounded down' a bit.

The BL mini trap is 2.5” 1/4oz, perhaps this is it

Lewis had a 3/8 oz. trap for awhile. They were 2.5" long. Had an odd name that I can't remember right now.    jj

That red/yellow plug sure looks like a husky jerk. All my husky jerk have rattles

I know it looks like standard Clown paint-scheme. But all the Clown Rapalas I've seen have been 'flat'. This thing is 'glittery'...and the length/weight doesn't match up either.

I think it is a modified Rap HJ. Looks like the sides were sanded or shaved. I know bending the nose like that was something In fisherman would print every so often. I will look fo my old clown HJ later. It has to be around 20 years old.

Bottom lure is small Husky Jerk.   Bottom of top pic is LC Flashminnow 95 custom painted.

Several years ago I had a custom lure painter paint 6 lures for me.  He did a good job with the paint, but didn't strip the lures first and they came back to me much heavier than before his work.  The jerkbaits had to be scraped or hung with smaller hooks to suspend.  Lesson learned.

Top lure is a custom painted Berkley Frenzy jerkbait from the 1st Berkley collection of Frenzy lures that were made in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  I spent many evenings building these baits... before Berkley sent production of their hard baits over seas.  There was also a deeper jerkbait.  Enjoy...

No modification, pic is deceptive.

So the top minnow is the Frenzy Firestick?

I think the Firesticks were the 2nd generation baits that were made over seas.  The original Frenzy lure family included a walking top water, popper, 1/4 & 1/2 lipless crank, medium & deep crankbait, shallow & deep jerkbait.  They were packaged in a hard plastic case not paper backed bubble pack.

I remember those and have a handful of the rattle baits left and two really goofy looking floating minnows. Wasn’t the cap red and that hung on the shelves? Rattle baits are pretty good even today.

Your memory is good.  The "goofy one" you're referring to had an enlarged chest... sort of half crankbait half jerkbait.  I've thrown away most of those Frenzy baits I had (slightly blemished), but still have several lipless, poppers and another shallow jerkbait.

If you don’t mind @MN Fisher I’d like to keep this going. I recently received a lot from @roadwarrior and there are a few cranks I’d like help with identifying.

Here’s no. 1

Unfortunately I don’t have a scale to weigh ounces.

Now that I’m starting to get my poop in a group and get organized I think I’ll pick one up.
