The vast majority of my bottom contact presentations are almost always some kind of plastic. 
When I did throw a jig I always used a creature bait of some sort, hardly ever a chunk. 
 

So a quick question....

When you guys rig a chunk on a jig, do you tip it or thread it?

I’ve seen swindle tip it in videos and refer to it as “old school” jig fishin’. 

I tip my chunks and thread  the craws

Never use a chuck, threaded Rage Craw only.

But before you do,

slide a section of stick bait, worm or craw body 

sufficient in length to 'take up the space' between the jig head & the chunk.

Maybe even a piece of Berkley Powerbait Maxscent The General Worm.

Helps keep it from getting all crazy on the hook

I planned on using Rage bugs and craws but wanted to get a sense of what you guys do. 
I found a bag of small chunks that I forgot I had.

I don't use chunks but sometimes will bit a bit off the body of a craw to make the profile a bit more compact.  I thread it. 

If pitching or flippin to hard cover i usually tip a chunk. Casting to work structure I usually thread a shortened creature.

Back in the day when I fished at night during the summer months I always tipped a chunk.

Tip pork, thread plastic.

With a chunk I does both ?

 

During winter I like a small jig the size of a Bitsy Bug Flip. I'll use Zoom's 3" Swimmin Chunk, tip it for additional length, thread it to shorten it.

 

I occasionally use Zoom's Big Salty Chunk on a 3/8 or 1/2 oz jig. Tip it for a longer profile & thread it to make the plane on the fall slowing ROF.

 

I also like a Gene Larew 6" Salty Hawg Craw with an 1 1/2" cut off the tail. Some days they don't like all that flapping action!
