How do you guys know where to park your cars when you travel to a new body of water? Not sure if it's just me but google maps take you to the middle of other peoples streets or a public road near the lake.

Haha I guess I should of reworded it better but I meant where do you know where the parking lot is at when you go to a new body of water. Also seems like some lakes/pond don't even have lots and you have to park offroad.

Go online to your states fish and game site, there should be a list of lakes, click on the lake your interested in and it should say where the parking lot is, or where to park.

Use the satellite overlay on Google maps and look for the big grey rectangular thing near the bank. ?

As odd as it sounds, I knock on a door and tell the homeowner who I am, why I am knocking and if I can park in front of their house.

 

Never had anyone say no and some have said to use the backyard and if anyone asks who the heck you are, let them know Mr/Mrs So and So said you were good to go.

 

Answer is always no, if you don't ask.

When you google don’t just type in the lake, type in the boat launch at a particular lake. Then you’ll have the parking lot location.

Just leave your truck and trailer at the boat ramp. After they slash your tires, they'll leave you alone and you'll have the lake to yourself. ?

 

Take caution with this advice. 

Also, for lakes that you can't find a map of, check with a local bait shop or sporting goods store.

Trucks with a trailer connected can be pulled while in park. But it's not pretty. Been there done that got the T- shirt.?

Some places I can park the car and fish next to the car other places I have to walk miles to fish. 

You park on the driveway and you drive on the parkway....

If you’re fishing near my house, you can try holston river park but it’s widely referred to as holston river nowhere to park . Whose idea was it to combine soccer fields with a boat ramp!??

That boat launch looks perilously shallow, too.

Use the street view to check for parking or pull off spots. These days half the time you can even read what the access or no parking signs say on street view.
