North Riverside, IL, Glad to Join

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum.  I have been fishing probably since 2019 after many years.  Basically since high school.  I'm back at it and love it.  I usually go with my son to the local lakes near our house.  Probably my favorite is Maple Lake in the Cook County Forest Preserves.  It's a nice place to pull, walk to the pier and cast out.  However, my best place that I have been catching fish is at the Riverside (IL) Library.  I'm catching bass there very often and have even brought in a nice size pike.  I have gotten addicted to buying hard baits and loose quite a bit.  The one bait that I'm always catching the bass on is the Berkley Flicker Shad® Shallow (blue).

My current gear is the a black Lews' Baitcaster and a shimano open cast.  I don't have expensive gear but it all works.

Glad to join and looking forward to learning more.

Welcome!

Also a big fan of the Flicker Shad Shallow. A very underutilized bait for bass.
