Finesse jigs

Featured Replies

Just got back from upstate. We caught a couple of nice bass but all they seem to be hitting was the senko and jig. Most of them were small but my biggest was on a jig. I never really fished them till now. So now I know. What are some of your favorite finesse jigs?

If you're talking true finesse vs just a finesse "cut" I like the keitech tungsten football jigs. Very small profile and light wire hook you could set on spinning gear and light line. I like to pair it with a double tail grub. With that said it's not really suited for fishing around wood or any heavy cover really. For a finesse "cut" jig Beast Coast make the hustler hybrid that has that small skirt/profile but with a beefier hook and weedgaurd. I think they made it with smallies in mind.

My two favorites are the Keitech Tungsten football and the BASS UNION finesse football, both are killer.

Siebert Outdoors.  Mike makes an awesome finesse jig and you can get them wire tied. Great product!

What exactly am I looking at.   I like the super chunk.

I like heavier hooks than the traditional Jewel finesse jig had, so mine are the War Eagle Heavy Finesse and the Santone Texas Finesse jigs.  I dress with either a Paca chunk or a Missle Baits double tailed grub.

War eagle finesse jig.  Two in a pack for the price of one.  Yum Craw Chunk trailer.  Unique line tie.

Booyah finance jigs work in a pinch.  Also two for the price of one.  Yum Craw Chunk trailer as well.

I've tried the Ballin Out finesse Jig, and was not impressed at all. It has a terrible skirt, and is the same price as a War Eagle jigs and Booyah jigs, but you only get one.

kietech tungsten football or riot minima tungsten either football or pitching style.

Why  do you guys like the heavy wire hooks for finesse jigs? I  am fishing mine on 10 or 12lb floro and a MH rod.

These are some great suggestions thanks again.

There are two types of finesse jigs, a full size jig with a light hook and a slimmed down trailer, and a compact profile finesse jig.

Generally early and later in the year, I will use the compact size finesse jigs, like the Keitech Finesse football jigs or the Strike King Bitsy Bugs or Booyah Baby Boo.

Come late June to August, I like the full sized finesse jigs.

I'm the same way personally, but I could see someone wanting to use their same setup for full size jigs and throw them into cover with just a finesse presentation possibly, other than that I can't see why

Strike King Bitsy Bugs. They're fairly cheap so I don't break the bank when I need to restock them.

Same. They are usually on sale during the BPS Spring Classic sale and I stock up for the year.

Dirty Jigs Tour Level Finesse Football Jig! Great jigs with a ton of different color combinations. Don't break the bank at $4.99 either.

about to receive a TW shipment with some Santone Lures Texas Finesse Jigs (5/16 oz, Black/Blue and Natural Craw), very excited to try them out, both hopping and skipping.

I've had good luck throwing them with a trd or x-zone's ned zone. Really nice hooks.

Top quality jig should have premium hooks like Gamakatsu or Owner for jigs.

GYCB, Yamamoto, jigs  weedless Hula Grub with 4/0 Owner or weedless football with 4/0 Gamakatsu hook are $3.80 for 3 each Hula or $3.80 for 4 football.3/8 oz is a good weight.

Yamamoto Twin tail Hula grubs $7.90 for 10 each.

Hard to find a finesse jig at with 4/0 premium hook, spider grub trailer for $1.75 each that comes close to catch bass consistently.

Sometimes you gotta put a "finesse" jig somewhere gnarly.

This is my favorites to throw.  Sniper with a Rage Baby Craw or the Lil Man

I still have a BUNCH of the old Eakins jigs, so I don't forsee changing any time soon.  If I'm moving the boat  I like the 5/16 oz size.   If I'm fishing out of the back of some one else's boat, I like the heavier 7/16 size, just because I want the bait to get down and do its thing before the boat gets moved very far.

Funny you mentioned these I just picked up some keitech model 2 version 2 tungsten football jigs. I hear really good things about these and by the looks of them they look pretty nice!
