Uses for standard 4in fluke?

Featured Replies

I've used these as a chatterbait trailer in the past. I'm talking about the regular zoom fluke not the super fluke. What are some other uses for these?

Good underspin trailer and also used for the double Fluke rig.

Under spin you say? Not sure why that never occurred to me

I do double fluke rug with it most of the times.

If you ever stream fish for Smallies, they are fantastic on a 1/0 EWG.

Drop shot, also on a ballhead jig head.

Been seeing alot of schools of small shad lately. I'm gonna nose hook one with an owner cps spring and dart that around. If I can cast it!

Shakey Head

*Will certainly work - but you have to turn the Fluke upside down as no way you can thread a hook back up through the belly (too thin / skinny !)

Yep. But it is still effective. I prefer bluegill type colors. Looks like a bottom feeder.

How do you rig it?

Dropshot, jerkbait on a 3/0 EWG Springlock (weighted or weightless), T-Rig, trailer on chatter or jig...it's used in a lot of techniques for me.

I have done very well fishing it on a Scrounger head dragging it along rocky bottoms.  DS too but I use the Baby Z Too for that.

I rig it with an Owner Twist-lock light wire 3/0 hook.  Let it shimmy on the fall to bottom as you would a Senko then walk it back with very light snaps... can also be affective with a slow steady retrieve.  A lot of 4" perch get devoured by bass in our neck of the woods.

I fish those weightless with a 1/0 wide gap hook T rigged. I use a light finesse rod with 8 pound test. You can’t throw em very far like that, even with spinning tackle, but you can throw them far enough. Caught this one on one…
