 Part of their sentence ought to be having to wear a placard describing their crime, and marching up and down a public area for a day.

They did that to some people that were caught robbing crab traps in the river.  The placards they had to wear said “ Crab Thief “ , and they had to march up and down the main street of the town- I forget how long…

The "Jersey Truck Driver" who unseated the state's senate president only spent $2K on his campaign. He couldn't have taken much in the way of bribes.
