Flatsides

Featured Replies

Is the Little John on par with OG Tiny 4 and Chick Magnet? Are these compatible lures? I did some testing yesterday. The Chick Magnet is just between the Tiny 4 and Slim 6. The Little John looks great in action and actually suspended. I didn't see much suspension from the Slim, Tiny, or Chick Magnet. The Chick Magnet has more eradic action not as tight as the Little John or Tiny. The Chick Magnet seems to be on par with the OG Slim while the Little John is more in line with the OG Tiny.

Overall, all 4 of these are great lures. If I were to pick.

1. SPRO Little John

2. OG Tiny

3. Chick Magnet

4. OG Slim

All of my cranks are SPRO.  There’s a lot of different versions of the Little John.  Originally known as a cold water killer, they are good at all times of the year.  Just remember that the original Little John needs to be slow cranked.  It’s not a normal speed crank.?

On par? I dunno. Think of them as golf clubs, there is a time an place for each. I'm sure all of those will catch fish.

The Berkley Frittside is my favorite flatside.

i'm in the market to add some flat sides. i'm grabbing a couple of the jackall bling 55's once they drop (hopefully) and then i'm between the 2 different sizes of the rapala OG's, and the spro little johns. i might have to add the frittside to the list ?

I would consider a wooden flat side in the mix. If OG means Otts Garage, it's wooden. The vintage Bagley Small Fry crappie is good, but slower receive lure for pre spawn bass. Upgrade the hooks.

Big fan of the Spro Little John squarebill type. Not the deep diver. I kayak and bank fish. No reason to buy deep divers. We are strictly talking shallow diving. The OG Tiny, Spro Little John and the Chick Magnet. These classes of lures. I'm trying to get feedback. Thank you

ah if only we could get our hands on some of them.

OG slim and the bagley flatside are the only flatside I’ve got in my box.

My votes are for the OG slim and OG tiny, rapala stuff just seems to catch fish.

I have caught a lot of river fish with the Bomber Flat A . Also its about the only crankbait I have caught suspended bass on . Rip it , reel in the slack  , repeat for the suspended bass .

Big M flatsides. I've  used them for years.

Yes my fav flat sides are spro’s.  the little John DD’s boated a lot bass and other multiple species for me this last year

1 spro little John DD’s

2 strike king flat sides

3 Berkley fritz flat sided

4 I’d kinda consider the DT series aflat sided crank.  Spring time crank at a minimum.

I was just browsing a *** article on Facebook about flat sided cranks and stumbled upon the rapala OG’s.  Those look interesting.  On the smaller side.  I may look more into those

I have a few RC1s in baby bass I'd be willing to trade.

Googled them but didn’t get a link.

I've been waiting on my OG Tiny's since November.  A little jealous of those of you who have them.  Due in (optimistically) Feb 18th. Really looking forward to testing them out as I have seen great success with the DT-4 in similar situations that I will throw the OG.

6th Sense Flat 75 is my go to flat side, but the smaller profile of the Rapala should finds its way into the rotation quickly.

Little John is my go to crank year round especially in current. It’s saved many days for me

I love my OG slims. Bought some tinys for river fishing.
