Bear problem.

Had to call animal control today on a very stubborn bear.

In broad daylight this fellow tore down the wife's bird feeder, upset the grill and chewed on garage door.

I got a very surprising response from the gentleman I talked to.

He requested a pic or video which I provided a video of bear chewing on garage door.

The guy said SHOOT HIM, wow wasn't expecting that.

Guessing they were busy today. Lol

I tried to do the right thing, oh well.

He might say shoot it but the fish and game might have a different point of view.

They are terrorizing all kinds of houses around here too , it may not be long before I’m having to trap the darn things haha

Just make sure it's something more substantial than this. ;)

“Hello, animal control? I have a bear having my garage door as lunch!”

”How do you know it’s a bear?”

“It’s bearly possible?”

Nope.  Animal control officially titled it a danger to the homeowner.  Very unfortunate, but we have the right to stay at the top of the food chain.

I’ve yet to see a bear in the wild.

Come to the house, they love it here. 20201031_081601.thumb.jpg.066e6ad6a26f67aa7cd0dfe4e9ac4871.jpg20200621_062430.thumb.jpg.e1a6d0bbcb398781d760e3ac69ea992d.jpg

Animals can contract Covid.  China & their dogs have proved that.

I would not shoot a crazy acting bear. Injure it ?  Now who tracks it down? A house wall is nothing to stop a bear. Big glass windows.  The state owns wild animals. Let them kill it. & pay the shipping costs.

Never ask the government to cure a problem you can cure. It's inviting problems.

Issue with that - half the problems I have, if I cured them myself...I'd end up in jail.

Well, when I was a young renegade, that phone call wouldn't have happened but now that I'm old and wise....... just old perhaps. Lol

My Mom called me one day and asked me to shoot a pig that was tearing up her lawn. This is about 12 miles from downtown San Jose (in Morgan Hill). Not exactly out in the middle of nowhere.

"I have my gun (Glock) can you come down here?"

"Is it in the front yard? You have neighbors on the street" Semi-rural but several homes too close for my comfort.

"Just get here he's ruining my lawn!" Haha okay Mom.

Okay so I drove to Morgan Hill. My Mom's lawn is torn up and there's a little baby pig doing all the damage. I just laughed.

"I can't shoot the pig this close to other homes" I mean I could have legally I think, my stepdad shoots on the property with some ex LEOs.

But I'm not a gun person and I was afraid it would ricochet off it's skull and go through someone's window. And what if I didn't kill it? I'm no hunter. And I didn't want to shoot the cute little...pig.... really anyways. So it ran off up into the hills.

The pig did a good job tearing up the lawn though!
