These are a few other GYCB soft plastics you should try: Kut-Tail, Kreature,

Flapping Hog, Zako and Fat Ika.

  • Yes, there is an ICAST show this year.  Same place as always - steamy Orlando in July.   There's been a number of releases already: https://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/st-croi

I love GYCB but....If your in a hurry, Geecrack offers a bait that is almost identical. It can be hard to come by but it has been really good for me.

The regular Senko is still my go to. I think it gets more bites than any worm I use. It could be a confidence thing though.

I think you are talking about the G Crawler, I had a local guy pouring custom baits like that but he went under during covid. I might try finding some of the ones you mentioned in the meantime.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'm in the process of simplifying my bait options so I'm going in the opposite direction and try to fit all my baits into a single 3700 size tackle tray.  My nearest lake (4 miles from home!) is bank fishing only so traveling as light as possible is a dominant decision variable.

I had to look it up... so what I was thinking of is the Bellows Stick.

SK under the radar?

I stumbled into Menace Worms on TW.  They have ICAST by the listing.  Haven't seen anything else about them, but so far it is the only thing that has intrigued me lately.  Looks like something @Cattwould design.

Just saw all the $3.99 bombers on TW.  Someone mentioned these, and I figured it was just one cheap bait in the line....like Lucky Craft's $6 squarebill.  Nope. There ate numerous $3.99 bombet baits, from the fat free fry to the 1oz fat free shad DD.  They are already selling like pancakes.  Strike King will have to make a move.

I think they updated the hooks and added a weight transfer on some baits like the flat a too.

Sweet.  Can't wait to buy a pile of them at $3.20 during the Christmas sale.

The new 5th gen Revo reels from Abu Garcia look killer.

The 5th gen Revo SX is on my list of must haves from this year's icast.

I have been SLAYING big huge bluegills on a beetlespin with a Donkey Tail Jr lure on the jig head to replace the original grub body.

I hauled in a dozen really nice black crappie on the same lure last Friday as well

The donkey tail Jr baits are essentially elaztech material, and are panfish sized.

Try em out...I'm absolutely a new believer in them after my first trip out trying em.

Beetle Spin!  Awesome but underrated bait.  After all these years, those things still work great.  My favorite variant was a jig spinner with a blue fox vibrotail minnow.  Unfortunately, the latter item is no longer made.

It had been 10-15 years since I used a beetlespin.  Don't know why I quit using them, because they catch everything that swims.

I will see if I can get a timeline for the new releases.

There are some select tackle outlets who have stock now.  One I have seen is Fishusa.
