How much do you spend a month on tackle?

Why so many Chatterbaits?

I throw em a lot, and I throw them in some nasty places so I lose a few here and there.

  • In the recent past, I've been Much Better than I used to be. But this week I sort of regressed a bit. Ordered a new reel as well as an embarrassingly ridiculous number of Jackhammers.

Not nearly as much as I used to. Thank God.

I'm pretty well stocked . I get a new reel almost every year , sometimes a rod . As far as tackle goes ,  I go through a lot of worms , hooks , sinkers and change my line often .

I stock up heavily over the winter which gets me through the year.

Actually walked the aisles of the fishing section at BPS in Wheeling WV recently and bought nothing. Lol

Now when I do go on this big annual spending spree, I gotta put the tailgate down.

I havent bought much of anything this year.Im frugal and have a small stockpile from buying in lots or sales like Black Friday. Im thankful to have a great wife who doesnt care what I buy. We went to Wal-Mart last week and I picked up 1 bag of Creme worms for $1.25 and after I met back up with my wife and put them in the buggy she asked if thats all they had and suggested I buy them all in that color!  I said nah 1 pack is all I need for now.

Depends.....if I just caught a nice Bass, usually within 24hrs I'm buying copious amounts on un needed tackle based on the tackle that caught said nice Bass

You could graph my spending easily, the more fish I catch, the more money I spend on fishing gear.  Stupid but true haha

Lol I’m the exact same way. I was killing it with a jig last week and ended up buying 20 more right afterwards. Did the same with Chatterbaits, soft plastics, and so on.

I keep hearing that you need to go in a SKIFF and read you in if you have the required clearance to get this information, or maybe knot....

I've definitely gotten better but I'd estimate about $50/month. I have an issue where if I buy on, I have to buy two. This includes line. And if I so happen to try a new brand of line, well...I have to get 4, 6, 8, 12, and 15 in it. I have an affliction that my things need to be all matching and the same brand; same brand reels, same rods, same line, same terminal tackle, and (most challenging) same brand baits. I've gotten trapped trying to leave my house with mismatched stuff - caught in a loop of going up and down stairs trying to force myself to leave before respooling or leaving baits at home. It gets expensive.

I don't have a regular amount.  I haven't spent anything in the last 2 months.  Some months, I may spend $50 or more.  But I'd bet the average is probably under $20.

I'm not a magic bait believer.  And I'll remelt soft plastics.  So most of my tackle money gets spent on replacing crankbaits that I've lost.

I'm in the habit of buying molds, shooting 1000 baits and selling the mold for zero loss. Not sure how to do this math...

Are you kidding, I do not keep track because I would probley have another heart attack. I carry very little cash & pay for everything with my cash back credit card which will cover what I spend on tackle for the year.
