Thanksgiving Menu

First off, Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow BRers.

So what’s on your menu tonight? I’m going to a big family potluck, so aside from the usual turkey and trimmings, I’m not sure what to expect. I’ll be bringing my homemade Mac and cheese (pics to come soon).

What are y’all eating today?

And feel free to share what you’re sipping on as well. I’ll be having some Sloop Super Soft IPAs.

EDIT: Added Mac and cheese photo

I wanted guajalote mole poblano but got out voted.  So we are having traditional stuff.

Jalapeño poppers, smoked ham, smoked head of cabbage, deviled eggs, stuffing and carrot cake. That’s what I’m bringing to the party.

Been eating ham for the past week and we aren't big on turkey. Today's menu is pork roast, green beans, mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potatoes, cornbread stuffing, homemade gravy, whole berry cranberry sauce and turtle pie.

Only three of us so I’m doing a dry rubbed turkey breast (wrapped in bacon), green beans, mashed potatoes/gravy, sweet potato/acorn squash bisque, fried corn, and corn bread with apple turnovers a last mode for dessert. I make it all from scratch and it’s all gluten free for my wife.

I'm not 100% what everyone is bringing. I know that my wife's excellent dressing will be there , with cranberry sauce. I have seen a chocolate pie, a coconut pie, two egg custard (my favorite) and some no bake cookies. I've heard that a turkey and a ham will be in attendance, but I haven't laid eye's on them myself.

I hope all of y'all have an extremely happy Thanksgiving!

Doggone @Catt, I would love to try that "Saltgrass pecan pie bread pudding"! I love bread pudding. Are you taking about the Saltgrass restaurant chain? There's one in Little Rock, right behind Bass Pro Shops. If so, I'm trying it next time at BPS!

Well my girlfriend took off around 3 to go black Friday shopping with my mom, sister and niece ...kind of a girls weekend tradition for them the past 4 or 5 years. Thought about having leftovers but I felt a little fancier than that. Supper was blackened mahi mahi with butter, lemon white wine dill sauce and a butter toasted rice pilaf with a glass of champagne.

@volzfan59 Yes sir! My youngest daughter is Pastry Chef for Golden Nugget Casino. The Casino Chefs cook the desserts for Saltgrass & Landry's Seafood.

Landry's owns Saltgrass & both are located here in the Golden Nugget Casino.

We had turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, corn casserole (I love that stuff), candy yams, mashed potatoes, and apple pie.

My in-laws had corn casserole in Toledo today, I had never heard of it. They described it over the phone and Sounds like I could jump in and swim around in it

Just got home and I’m stuffed to the gills. There was turkey, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, polenta, sausage stuffing, cranberry salsa, green been casserole, Rueben dip, asparagus, brussel sprouts and bacon, brownies and pie. Gonna sleep like a log tonight.

An extra batch was requested for this year. We still didn’t get much to take home. It’s pretty dang good!

I need only 2 things to be happy with my Turkey at Thanksgiving, Green Bean Casserole and Ocean Spray jellied cranberry sauce.

Washed it down with a Sam Adams Winter lager.

I made a "young turkey" in my rotisserie.  I stuffed it with garlic gloves, oranges, and lemons for flavor.  Turned out pretty well to be honest.

My wife added stuffing, mashed potatoes/gravy, and green been casserole.  Pumpkin pie was later.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  I like the food and I like watching football.

Catt, mind sharing what goes into Tommy T's dirty rice? I've never had dirty rice and would like to try making a batch. There's a lot of variation in the online recipes.

@padlin Yes sir ?

I make slight modifications to suit mine & my family's taste.

Thanks, need to practice my Cajun accent before I try it.
