Fleet Farm had these on sale really cheap a few weeks ago and I grabbed 3 or 4 bags.  I hope they work up on Mille Lacs this spring.

Dang. My Fleet Farm doesn't carry them I don't think. And they're based out of WI even.

I don’t remember what colors I grabbed.   If it is one of the colors you like, I can send you some.  I will check again if I get up there and will grab some more bags if you’d like.

I appreciate that my friend. But I'm good for a while on tubes I think.

My favorite tube by far for smallies is the NetBait STH Finesse Series 2.5" in 'Green Pumpkin'. It's my confidence lure and the thing I fish the most!

Root beer and green pumpkin have been pretty good colors for me there over the years.

I agree with those.  I haven’t used Howies tubes there yet.  I am sure they will be solid.   If not, with my tackle addiction, I might have 10-12 others to try.  I am somewhat excited to try the Maxscent tubes.  Haven’t used those on Mille Lacs yet.  Last year there was a weird year with all the little perch.  A slower year than normal.

I have some of those too, and did not use them there. Mille Lacs was a complete bust for me last season. I went 3 times and all 3 times it was too rough to adequately control my boat, so I had to fish a smaller local lake for largemouth as a contingency plan each time.

Generally my best period out there is late May into early June with a perch colored jerk bait.

The bite was way off anyway.   I am hoping to enjoy some solid days up there this summer.  Jerkbait, tube, Ned, swimbait, drop shot, hair.   It will help if some of the perch have been eaten and there isn’t so much forage.

2.75" Mizmo teaser tubes. Have caught everything from smallmouth to musky to walleye on them. I've tried 3 and 3.5" but the 2.75" outperforms all other sizes by a mile.
