I have a daiwa cc80 baitcaster on a mh/f rod for moving baits..(chatterbaits.. Spinnerbaits and the like)  was thinking fluoro but can't decide if fluoro would be best..water is rocky with sparse grass.. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. 

Generally fluoro Will offer the most abrasion resistance, and will be your best bet around rocks. If the grass is only sparse, I would definitely be using fluoro. 

Personally I dont use floro with a moving bait setup.

 

Trilene Big Game is what I do and would use. I did use trilene XL for a while but the BG seems to stand up better so far. 

split the difference and grab some Yozuri Hybrid in 8, 10 or 12. Youll be glad you did.

YZH is definitely the line to try - inexpensive, abrasion resistant and low stretch.

I'll say Yo Zuri Hybrid also.

No sir that depends greatly on the specific line used. I don’t necessarily have anything against using fluoro for spinnerbaits, but what I recommend is 15lb trilene big game

Suffix Advance Monofilament can be found pretty cheap, not as cheap as big game monofilament but if you buy directly from pure fishing you can usually get a discount code.

Nylon would be my last choice for spinnerbaits haha far too much stretch for my liking. I make bomb casts with spinnerbaits in thick weeds and big game may as well be a bungie cord in that scenario.

I tried 10# Advance Mono last year on one of my reels. After coming back from the first trip trying it, stripped it off, tossed it in the trash and put YZH on that reel - I really didn't like the Advance.

I feel like I can’t reply accurately without turning this into a mono v fluoro fight. I mean, it’s probably gonna happen anyways. It’s like a bassresource ritual. Has to happen every week otherwise the site shuts down. Fluoro is fine on spinnerbaits. So is mono. There, I said it

I’m pretty much an all fluoro guy on baitcasters, but in this case, I agree with the posters recommending YZH or Big Game. Keep it simple to start, and then consider changing after some experience and time on the water if you feel some aspect of your presentation or efficiency is lacking.

What depth? How clear is water?  Sharp or round rocks?

I am a bank fisherman so it's not super deep.. Just rocks and some timber but not much grass.. I would say stained to muddy 

 Smooth 8 carrier braid is the correct answer. I like Fins Infinity for moving baits.

Threw yo zuri hybrid 10lb last year and really liked it. Bought four more spools on sale.

It's long casting, sensitive, and drives those big hooks home at long distance with ease. I use a H MF rod and 40# braid for single hook moving baits.

Exactly what he said. 12-15lb big game.

Looks like we are all voting...again.  I use two lines on baitcasters, Sufix 832 and 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid.  I've tried many different lines and combinations.  I settled on these and they have never failed me.  I'm sure many people on here can say the same about the lines they prefer. 

The Daiwa CC80 is composite frame light weight reel.

If you are new at baitcasting reels then less expensive mono line like Big Game 12# is a good choice. 

Sunline Defier Armilo 11 or 13# is more expensive Nylon Mono , very smooth casting line with all the properties you are looking for. Compare line diameters and Yo-Zuri Hybrid is very large vs Armilo. Larger Diameter = more memory.

Big Game Mono. Tough stuff here in Missouri it’s one big rock. Stands up really well.

I have two reels currently with flouro the rest are braid. I currently have Seagar Red Label. It’s time to change it out so I have some Tatsu on the way. I’m curious to see what all the rave is about. ?
