Blur your house on Google Maps Street View for privacy

Featured Replies

I usually leave my garage open in the summer for my boys to run in and out of and the Google car snapped a picture of stuff in my garage that I don't really want people knowing about. No...not a whiskey still or anything, just my boat and rods/reels and tackle. I noticed another house down the street had their Google Map view blurred so I found this and it was easy to do. So now my house, garage, and car driveway are blurred. Here's how to do it.

Google maps aren't very up to date when I look at my house/neighborhood.

At my last house, I had lived there for years and it showed an older, smaller house that was there 7 years prior.

I just checked my current house and it shows a photo from over a year ago when it was still for sale.

Mine shows the F-9 in the parking slot and the truck out front...so last summer sometime.

That will suck if you ever sell. It is very difficult to unblur it if you don't want it blurred

It's permanent. If I ever sell, I'll have it listed through MLS and they'll have their own pictures.

Don’t matter to me. Pretty sure it’ll be a LONG time before any google map street view is recorded anywhere near my dead end, dirt road way out in the boonies house ?

I got something that will blur the vision of any unwanted guests ?

On a serious note, all the Google shots of my house is roof, not on an angle where you can see in the garage.

My garage door is open in the last picture they took of my house. With the car parked in front of it all you can see is a little bit of my riding mower. They did blur the license plates on our vehicles.

I’m not worried about it. Like Bird said, it would be their bad if someone ever tried breaking in our house.

Not that we have much anyway that anyone would want…

Blur? No way! I'm actually in walking to my old chevy K5 blazer when the first time googly maps car was passing - they blur you out mostly. Now I am actually in my company parking lot as the car passed by smoking a cigarette the ONE time I had one in like 15 years. Figures.

The google maps picture of my house is from 2016.

oh no.  that was my yoga day.  i should really pull up my tights..  and close the garage door to my yoga studio.

15000 people a day drive by my house in real life, I don’t care if a picture of It is blurred.

Same reason I don’t blur out license plates in photos. I don’t even know what the point of that is.
