Now living in Texas and not having access to available hunting lands (plus getting up there), it’s a no-brainer for me. I’m fishing!

Where I live the fishing picks up just after Thanksgiving, the snow birds come down. But like you said, the pleasure boaters and jet skis are gone. So overall, the people on the water drops about 30%-40%. 

My sons are big time into duck and goose hunting and I'll make a couple of hunts with them during the season. Other than that I would rather be fishing.

There have been a few hunting accidents around here over the years.  Fishing is just safer.
