Is that a bait that you’re using to do the bottom hopping technique?

No, jigging a lipless use a cheaper Trap.

Rat-L-Trap and Cotton Cordell Super Spot

I am not very experience in bass fishing, I have 10 years of experience and this two helped me catch 15% of my LMBs. That is a lots of bass cotton cordell .5oz and drop to bottom and rip 45 degree very fast is my to go for when I want to catch to show off 😁.

Which do you prefer?

@Bazoo I’ve got a bunch of lipless cranks, most are Rat-L-Traps…. A lot of unknowns. They all seem to fish about the same to me. Other brands have different colors and patterns which I think make more of a difference.

These days I throw the Booyah One Knocker

I ordered one of theses as fluff to get over the free shipping limit  (gets me every time.) Anyway….. I am convinced the one rattle versus multiple rattles can make a difference.

the 3/4 oz LC LV-500 (might not be the right model #) is my favorite for working like a jig on the bottom in the spring.  The only downside is that they can be pricy at $20 ish dollars apiece. However, they do have a distinct rattle.

6th quakes sense is my favorite lipless for actually casting out and work like a regular crank bait.

I do have some Rat-L traps, and the new ones are much better than the old ones. I think for the money you really can't beat them.

Around here it kind of depends on the water you are fishing.  I fish on one small lake where Spots and Red Eye Shads work.  The bass won't touch a Trap.  On a second lake, the bass want Traps, and Spots, but not Red Eye Shads.  I usually take a few of each bait and try them all until I start getting bites.

I have way to many Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps.  Most of them I got in used lure boxes bought off of ebay.  The Bait Monkey is always trying to get me to buy some more expensive Lipless cranks, but I keep telling him when I run out of the ones I got, I will try a few other types.  Every time I tell him this, he starts to cry and say's he will be long gone before I loose all of my old Rat-L- traps.  He always asks me what if the bass don't want the old Traps, I I simply tell him, if a bass wont hit the original, than they will have to hit some other lure in my box. It is easy for me to hold firm on this issue, because the original Traps almost always gets bit.

I’m partial to the Rapala Rattlin’ Rap.

My favorite Red Eye Shad is a chrome with blue back , silent model. This one is not silent though. It has a faint tap. It excels as a lift and drop bait but I'm afraid to use it . Its not replaceable. I have to be pretty sure there is not a snag present.  AJ has one .
