What’s everyone’s favorite (durable) ribbon tail

Featured Replies

I’ve been throwing 10 inch zoom ol monsters. I love a big ribbon tail. Bit man a few fish and they are wrecked. What’s everyone else fishing with?

They are maybe an inch shorter than the Ol Monster.

Hahaha. That would be perfect. I usually trim about an inch of an ol monster.

Culprit all day

I don’t know if it’s considered a ribbon tail, but UV Speed worms are  my top producer for all  baits this year.

If that’s not included, Culprits would be my choice.

Zoom mag 2 in plum apple on Gamy 5.0.

mag 2 in redbug or junebug red depending on the visibility...actually just one of my favorite lures period and when in doubt just set it up like this guy says.

Zoom or Culprit

I really like the Zoom mag duece as well. Candybug  is definitely a go to for me. Junebug would be a close second.

Zoom Mag II and a Culprit, the longer one. I can't remember the name, but it's longer than the 7.5. I will say this; I throw an Ol Monster until it's the size of a standard ribbon tail after biting off the head a few times.  The bass don't seem to mind.

Absolutely. I usually trim some off the end to start. Just depends. But I sidle them down till the hook just fits lol

Used to fish curly tail worms all the time as a kid, so in comparison to now, I rarely use them.  Not great in loose grass or real thick cover, but I have grown fond of this one.

GrandeBass MegaTail RattleSnake Worms 10pk

Like everyone else Ive thrown the Ol Monster plenty of nights, but one worm I used to catch piles on seldom gets any love.  Bass Assasians Worm in grape firetail and black bluetail has caught loads of bass for me.  They used to come with this really heavy garlic scent.  All 3 are great, but with my arm twisted having to pick one, it would have to be....

Blue Fleck Firetail

I like Culprit. I've used them for 35 years or so.

Ol' monster or netbait c-mac. I would always pick the one they bite vs the one that lasts the longest.
