KARASHI 80 ; ANYBODY GET ONE?

I ordered 2 on Monday from TW. They are taking forever to ship. The UPS shipping label was created last night and I have no delivery date yet.

Really sucks too - I threw off a grass piece at gville this am…

Received mine yesterday from TW. My status showed label created the whole time and then bam they were on my front porch. Never showed any shipping updates.

They are a lot bigger than I had anticipated. Actually really stoked on these. They are like a more universal shallow running jerkbait. Not much shorter than a 110 JR, but a fatter profile.

Going to head out tomorrow. Just trying to decide if I want to fish pre spawners or go wreck some smallmouth.

My answer is no to your question because I don't buy JDM, but in my opinion when you place items in your cart no one should be able to buy them back out of it. If you have committed to purchase those

Megabass Karashi 80

Longer and heavier than the standard Megabass Karashi, the versatile Megabass Karashi 80 is an upsized premium twitchbait that's perfect for tempting pressured bass with both casting and spinning tack

A few left in stock here ~

Thanks A-Jay! I was not familiar with Hammonds, they had what I wanted and shipped immediately (for the most part). Three Karashi 80, several bags of soft plastics, and two Hideup Coike. I received an e-mail telling me one of the Coike was out of stock, and refunded my card at the same time. I'll buy from them again.

You're Welcome and I'm glad it worked out.

Been doing business with Hammonds for a while, and they have never done me wrong.

I expect to do my own show & tell with one of these baits.

But I'm going to wait until it's hanging out of the face of a bulbous brown bass.

Hmmmm....totally weird that you're not lipping that bass....

Well they work, 4 striper so far this morning and as many missed blowups. Had a couple fully rainbow out of the water and miss it. Only thing so far I don't love is the megabass outbarb trebles. Pain in the butt the unhook by hand.

If you’ve fished the original size, how does the action compare to it?

Frap - I didn’t know they came with outbarbed hooks… only hook I have ruined a shirt over not being able to get out…

@Jerkbait22 very similar action. First impression I feel like the 80 needs to be worked just a hair slower for the best action. It walks and darts beautifully but doesn't seem to have quite the same frantic pace of the original bfs size. I'm using a Dobyns champ 704cb and 10lb yo zuri hybrid today for what it's worth, maybe a slightly shorter rod and pure fluoro will be the ticket for super speed.

I hope it’s good, I “accidentally” bought 8 of them.

Changing out the feathered tail treble to a plain non dressed treble almost always speeds up darter type bait’s action. Dressed deal acts like a parachute. But in cooler water, a slower or subdued presentation might be money.

Walked into my local tackle emporium expecting to walk out with a couple 110 Jr's. They had these swinging from the pegs. For a short time.

The hooks are outbarbs, but not the Katsuage type.

I got my two but haven't tried them yet. I took the regular version out yesterday in Kasumi Ito and Ayu. Tossed it around on BFS gear and caught 17 at a local pond. Nothing special but it was fun.

Anyone know if Megabass offers a tinsel treble sized for the size 80? I could not find one.

Megabass definitely makes Number 6 tinsel or feathered tinsel trebles (looks to me to be a size 6 as best as I can tell). The challenge will be finding them in stock, at least for the time being. The good news is that I see the originals being more durable than the #10 tinsel trebles that come on the standard Karashi, so they hopefully won't need to be replaced as often. The #10 trebles are a bit on the fragile side and I have already replaced a number of them since I have been fishing the smaller Karashi.

Apparently that means nothing at TW.

I bought some "hot" items in stock. Paid for them, got a receipt. Then 2 days later got an email saying they couldn't fulfill my order and would be refunding me.

I have little doubt they took my order to fulfill the order/backorder of a bigger/better customer who was too slow on the limited stock.

That would be A-Jay, TW has to fulfill his orders first since he is a Triple Platinum Member.
