Featured Replies

what one do you find best or is your favorite

The "best" lipless crank is a moving target, but my "favorite" is the Spro Aruku Shad.

I had to go with other on this one. Strike kings red eyed shads are hard to beat, for around 5 bux a pop.

I love rat L traps and xps rattle shads, but cotton cordell super spots are the best.

There are too many lipless cranks on the market  to decided which one is best.

My chrome with blue back Rat-L-Trap is an excellent producer while others have also caught bass.

Try a bunch and then decide which one you like best.  ;)

Best????

I always thought the Rattlin Rapala was the "best", however I've had ALOT of success with the XCalibur Xr50. The two colors that have produced for me are:

1-Blue Chrome/Orange

2-Pearl Melon

Strike King's Red Eye Shad in Sexy Shad, and East Texas Special have produced well for me also.

Excalibur XR50.

Red Eye Shad.

Cordell Super Spot. (old standby that keeps on working).

I might be the only person on earth that has not caught a fish on a Rattle Trap. Just don't use them that much.

I've have had good success on a variety of them, if I had to pick one it would be the Yozuri Rattlin' Vibe. The Jackall TN 70, Spro Aruka Shad, SK Red Eye Shad, Excalibur XR 50, Koppers Crawfish trap have also performed well. This past Sunday the Sebile Flat Shad turned a slow day into a productive outing while my buddy who saw me catching them on a lipless crank barely got any bites with his rattling model. I think this is an instance where the rattling sound spooked the fish on the pressured lake that I was at. I also think that the transluscent color also helped because the water was very clear.

my absolute favorite rattle trap stike king red eye shad 1/2 ounce in sexy shad color this is an amazing lure to use when the bass are feeding off white perch and shad

other:   XCalibur Xr50

I recently picked up the Sebile Flat Shad but have not had a chance to throw it yet,  looks nice though  ;)

You cant beat Strike Kings Red Eye Shads.  I bet I have 12 different colors.

My favorite is a Excalibur Xr50.

I voted for Rat-L-Trap but I also like the Cordell Super Spots.

Jackall T/N70

Yo-Zuri Hardcore Drum

Spro Aruku Shad

In that order.

These are very close in performance.  All have great action at any speed, even very slow retrieve speeds.  They sink nose first, and all of them stand on their noses on the bottom with their tails pointing upwards.  They can be jigged and don't plane to one side on a fall, and flutter nicely in the rise.  Of course, you can burn them like any other lipless.

I really like to fish the Redeye shads, Xr 50s and Yo-Zuri Hardcore Drums.

I have fished so many but lately for me its the red eye shads and the XR50's

Spro Arukushad Jr. in Spooky Shad Color

"Dynamite"

The great thing about the Aruku Shad is the way it may be worked along the bottom.

During the pre-spawn and spawning seasons, the aruku shad can be retrieved with its nose scraping the bottom,

while the body remains vertically upright (the others fall over).
