  1. Is theft a part of your daily routine? well...........thats not theft. if i had any motivation at all id find the mail fraud law that clearly states unsolicited goods do not have to be returned to sender.
  2. if that was the case they could keep the rod and i would be looking for a full refund. unless a blind man packages and ships the rod they should know the rod is not saleable with a guide off center. thats just me though. LOL!! Yeah, I was kind of the same opinion. So, I mentioned that to TW - asking them if they inspect the rods when they receive from the manufacturer and before they ship to customers. They didn't have a really great answer for me. But, they're sending me shipping labels to return it to them. Draw your own conclusion I guess. Do you guys think that it would be feasible for TW to visually inspect the items they sell? Shipping/receiving is fast paced and workers are relatively low paid. Ultimately this is a manufacturer's issue, and they (Dobyns in this particular case) need to get their ducks in a row sounds like an excuse. IMO TW does hold some responsibility in making sure the gear they sell is ready to go.

  4. im curious, is there a reason you suggest this bearing over a steel bearing? id love to know the pros and cons of both ceramic and steel. thanks.
  5. slap a Daiwa Alpha Ito on that rod and you could say its perfect for the job.....
  6. i wish posters would go into detail when they trash a rod. i dont know a lot about rods so it helps me quite a bit when a poster who knows about rods in general rates them poorly.
  7. right now the only thing you need is your plastics gear. in open water i like a shaky head and zoom trick worms. around the brush/moss i like creature baits on chompers weedless jig heads.i superglue the baits to the shank of the hook so the baits can be "popped" through the grass and the moss without the bait sliding down. i like chompers shaky worm out there too.
  8. i like kill creek. i caught 7 from the bank tonight, and i stink at bank fishing. bigger fish can always be caught from a boat. that fish was the end of last year. i never fish gardner. you might try douglas county or baldwin county.
  9. Orange Seal bearings IMO arent know to just sit n spin with the seals still installed. a good steel ball bearing will IMO "free spin" longer than the Orange Seal bearings. other than that, .RM., and bronzefly with a few others are proven techs. i personal would go back and read as many of their posts as possible if you like to service your own gear.
  10. an old Rapala Risto Rap. hung up on line in the water, lucky for me the bait floated up enough for me to see it out there.
  11. all one needs to do is compare the anti-reverse bearing on a Revo and a BPS reel. a lot of difference.
  12. not always that easy. the angle of the boat ramp dictates how deep my trailer sits in the water. winch your boat the last foot, thats what i would do. as far as the OP goes, still not sure why power loading would be illegal.
  13. anyone pick up on the name of the town?
  14. split shot squeezed on the front hook. shhhhhhhhhhhhh its a secret.
  15. ya, this is going to be hard to watch. BTW.........bout 5 mins ago called the old man and asked him out fishing...
  16. I bought that gun in 2003 and have about 15 000 rounds through it. Been an amazing gun. Wish I could shoot it more often, but 22LR is hard to find around here. thats weird. we have .22lr like we have flies.
  17. "other" should be an option on your pole.
  18. when you own an E5, you want the 6:2 bad! I'd never own an E5, but if you do, why not go with an E7? Nothing you can't do with one. I got a good deal on Curados so I made the switch, although I don't quite like them as much as my STXs, I have 11 E7's and ordered 0 E5s for a reason i like the Curados as much as my Sols, just dont tell the SP. i like my Revo STX and S's better after a good clean/lube. off the shelf i felt i wasted my $$$. but i agree, id never buy the E5 again.
  19. my point was, from what i read, death was not from drowning. i could be wrong.
  20. great to know. i wonder what bearings hes using, the Orange Seal bearings are louder and, IMO, not as smooth as the same steel bearing in the same price range.
  21. from what i read, the cause of death was a blow to the head. water played no to little part.
  22. i mounted mine assuming it would be level while the boat sat in the water. i used the water stain on my boat as a guide.
