For the flouro's, gamma or yo-zuri. Like them for everything. I used flouro a lot two years ago and need to get back with it. Messed around with other lines mono's and braid this year and realized how great flouro really is.

Live VS Artificial... State, Local, Club, Re
Nice point, about heavy rain and crawlers, never put those two together before. And I didnt try to make a stereotype or anything about people using livebait and watching a bobber go down or that they or not as good as anglers who fish artificials. Sorry if I got under anyones skin on that.

Irritating and Probably Illegal Sales Practice
I'm with Matty on this one too, just dont get it. About the whole Target thing that it wrong, just to get you in the stores so hopefully you buy something else. > Good one, my buddy at UPS also works at Wal Mart, he brought his Wally World Contract thingy in to show he couldnt work today. In the contract, his Wal Marts policy is that you have to have documentation of hospitilization or of the person being in a coma in order to have the day off, all other reasons will be deemed unacceptable and the employee will be "written up". Little bit excessive if you ask me.

Winter-time bass in a small river
Small jigs, hair jigs, tubes, the rapalas and inline spinners. This time of year when that water get under 50* the smallie jerkbait bite can be amazing. As for too cold of the Mason-Dixon... There is supposed to be a tourney on Candlewood in CT in a few weeks and people are saying it might take 8 smallies for 40 lbs.+ to take it, thats just crazy.

Live VS Artificial... State, Local, Club, Re
RW-The point I was trying make... About consistancy in fishing: Sometimes all the fish will hit are 3 inch shad and if you cant give them exactly that you are not going to get them as well. So who will win? The angler using live bait. But if the fish are scattered and not feeding who will catch them? The guy using artificials going for reaction bites and covering water. So if there where tournaments where both live bait and artificials are involved there is no way of showing who is a better angler in the course of a year because neither angler will be consistant. About patterns: Now I'm sure you have lakes at home where everyone knows the hot spots and its not so much about finding the fish but about how to make them to bite. You can make the fish hit because of a reaction or out of finesse. And you figure this out through a varity of trial and error until you figure it out. Once you do you find more spots like that one and do the same thing, thus getting on a good pattern. Now how can a live bait fisherman learn this when he is on the water and change to catch the fish? He cant.

Bass Boat w/o Motor
Nope, sorry I dont think you wont get up on pad. Take the good with the bad though. You are going to comprimise speed in the aluminum for stability and comfort. Which I would take anyday. It will allow you to focus more on fishing instead of worrying about a leaky jon boat and whether or not you are going to get blown off the boat. It will also allow you to stay in the main lake when it is nasty out and everyone else in your club retreats to the coves to get out of the wind. So it might not be the fastest in your club but it sure has some good things about it.

Live VS Artificial... State, Local, Club, Re
First off Fishing in freshwater with live bait vs. fishing saltwater with live bait is just completely different. If you were to throw live bait into competitive bass fishing it would be impossible to differenciate a good angler from a lucky angler because I dont thing anyone would be consistant. You wouldnt have tourneys won on patterns it would be more about spot fishing and someone getting lucky. imo

Gas Prices Affecting Fishing
Yup, the closest lake I can get my boat into is a 22 mile trip over the RI line and into CT. So if I want to fish on a weekday. I drive a total of 36 miles to work, which = $9.30 (truck gets 12 miles to the gallon, avg RI price is 3.10). Then 44 miles to fish for the day= $12.40 (10 when I tow). ouch. Trying to save $$$ for a new truck is tough.

Bass Boat w/o Motor
For what you are planning on doing with it seems like a sweet deal. You will be much more comfortable in this boat than your other one. Throw the 35 on it and you are ready to go. I would go over $500 either, like cart7 said. Your gonna need a trolling motor, a few batteries, ect. ect...

Favorite Bass Fishing Magazine
Bass Times, more of a newspaper but still realy like it. And I think one of the best features in both Bassmaster and FLW Outdoors is the Day on the Lake article usually every month. They take a pro and put them on a lake they have never been on before and see how he fishes it. I have learned lot from these sections, probably more than the articles.
