  1. I agree. I started making my own skirts and have formulated a swim jig skirt that I catch a lot fish on...kind of a dirty shad look. Very rewarding. Will have to wait a few months before I can try some of the hard lures I have painted, but I know I have painted some Megabass S crank knock-offs for less than 4 dollars...they are 20 bucks most places. Plus, it gives me something "fishing" to do during the winter months here in Ohio.
  2. I go on whatever day/days I am off. I don't care what the tables say, I am going fishing.

Those look incredible! Good luck with the sale
  4. I can see where this is headed. One day I would like to make all my fishing lures. I can see the cost of this being a major issue. After I bought airbrushes, compressor, helping hands, blanks, paints, glitter, epoxy, hooks, split rings...my wife said why don't you go buy some new lures...it would be cheaper!!!!
  5. You do good work. Those look great!
  6. I am looking at a budget of more like a hundred dollars or so. I just started painting my own hard plastic blanks and am enjoying the heck out of it. At some point, I think I would like to make my own jigs and bladed jigs as well as spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Then I can kick the crap out of the bait monkey and vanquish him forever. ?
  7. Thanks for all the suggestions.
  8. what vise do you guys use when hand tying your jigs? I would appreciate names and models please. Thank you in advance for help
  9. Love that flag!

that white jig is awesome. I tend to throw more white/shad type baits. Really nice work.
  11. Great looking jigs! Awesome.
  12. I have a few of the 733 and 734. I really, really like them. lightweight, sensitive, and have maybe a touch little softer action...with a slightly softer tip than say my 7'2' MH shimano cumura rods. at 108 bucks it'd be a challenge to find a comparable rod in my opinion.
  13. you had me. good one!
  14. I have the Cabelas rod you mentioned above. And two others. They are fine rods, sensitive, and I like the winn grips much more than I thought I would. The 7'3" rod mentioned is same. I have used it for frogging mostly and is a very nice rod for pulling fish out of lily pads and reeds. I also used to drag a jig around and found it sensitive. It has enough tip to cast well, and enough backbone for ...whatever is needed. Hope this helps
  15. Same here. Good on you. I work at a skilled nursing facility...Most folks do not get visitors. It is sad.
  16. Great work! all your baits look incredible.
  17. Holy smokes...those are beautiful!!! very nice work.
  18. I like these...alot. 3 years and still going strong https://www.cabelas.com/product/footwear/mens-footwear/mens-slippers/pc/104797980/c/104747580/sc/103899780/cabelas-mn-bomber-slipper/2027876.uts?slotId=33
  19. The best advice given is to complete( ATTACK) physical, occupational, and speech therapy as soon as possible...which you are doing. the more time you devote, the more complete your recovery can be. Also, don't get caught doing the same items/exercises repeatedly. Your brain needs to be challenged with many diverse activities. Picking up change from surface top, opening/closing safety pins, buttoning/unbuttoning shirts, thera-putty, fingers to thumb opposition, moving items with affected upper extremity/lower extremity from right to left and then left to right. Hopefully, your therapist is giving you many different exercises and activities to enhance your recovery. Praying for full recovery for you! For all members, Remember FAST Face...is one side drooping? Arms, can person lift arms overhead equally? Speech, is it slurred? Time...if any are noticed...Call the E-squad The sooner treatment is given the less damage done to brain and the faster and easier recovery can be.
  20. I like this one...for anything but braid.
  21. biffle bugs can also be used on buzzbaits...pinch of the tail. I really like the 3.5 inch on smaller buzzbaits 1/4 ounce when things are calm... I guess I should say bass really like them?
  22. I have a quantum Gerald Swindle tour rod...medium light 7 footer than is a very effective smaller crankbait rod. I throw SK 1.0 and 1.5 cranks, Rapala DT4 and DT6 cranks along with others in this size/depth range. Fish stay hooked on this rod as well as my other "cranking" rods, if not better.
