The Doctor told me the same thing, if you don't get the shots, and get the disease, your options get limited to ONE, and it is a bad one. I started the shots yesterday. SIX of them to start. then I get one more shot in three days, 7 days, and 14 days. Better safe than a rabid maniac. Although.....I have a short list of people who would deserve to get bitten ;D ;D

I got bit by a bat this morning. what a weird thing to have happen. I have to go get rabies shots until and if they can prove the bat doesn't have rabies. The little creature landed on my fishing line as I was reeling, and got caught by the rod tip. While trying to free the little rascal, he bit my right middle finger. Strange. Oh, by the way, I did kill him and have the health department coming tomorrow to take him to be tested for rabies.

Sippi, what kind of rod is that little beauty using? I am looking thinking it may be a spongebob rod??? my daughter's 1st rod was a barbie w/ a matching tacklebox. Great pics and great memories.

I have been using a cabelas tournament trail 6 and a half foot medium heavy moderate action rod I bought for 30 bucks about 5 years ago. Even though it is medium heavy, it feels more like a medium to me. I use it for mostly 1/4 or 3/8 ounce shallow to medium divers. Very nice, light rod with a soft tip. They are often on sale for about 30 dollars. Might be worth a look as well.

megastrike for soft plastics...one tube lasts a long time. Also, I use cavitron buzzbaits. Have not tried your new spinnerbaits, only because I have not seen them in the local stores or the cabelas I visit. Come to think of it, I have not seen either the cavitron buzzbaits, or your spinnerbaits at Cabelas?

Cabelas currently has their XML series 6"9 dropshot rod on sale for 69.00...normally retails at 139.00. They also have their tournament ZX spinning reel on sale for 50.00 as well as the Diawa Exceler. Even better, if you purchase the Cabelas xml rod w/ their tournament zx spinning, the whole combo is 99.00 bucks. That leaves you 50.00 dollars to feed the bait monkey. I have this rod and love it. Plenty strong, nice soft tip, can cast light baits a mile and no problems hauling in 2-3 lb fish. I wish I could tell you that it hauls in 4-5 lbs, but that would, unfortunately, be telling fisherman tales ;D ;D Also, the tournament zx spinning reel is made by Diawa, and is on par with the Exceler. I also have one of these reels and find it to be strong, smooth, and reliable.

I have also increased my hook-up ratio dramatically by adding a sureset hook to the back of my topwater lures. I don't know what it is, but many times, probably 6-7 out of 10 times, the fish are hooked on that sureset part of the hook. As an added benefit, being topwater baits, the sureset does not snag on every rock, log, brush pile in the lake. ;D

I too agree with what Rick Clunn has said. I think the winner of should be the person who did it the best and the longest. However, in sports, teams, drivers, anglers, don't always get what they want. Money trumps all. Sadly. I also think Skeet had a great year, but the fact is he didn't produce at crunch time...for the second year in a row. That has to be eating at him.

He is a great player, no doubt. Also, a very selfish person in holding his teams hostage while he soaks up all the attention. Even his agent called him a "drama queen". However, some of those sears commercials he does crack me up. ;D

Many people seem to not like the format. I am not sure if folks are Skeet fans and are unhappy he did not win, or if they really just don't care for the format. One point for all to remember is that all the elite anglers are operating under the same rules for the entire season, which includes the post season. Skeet had a tremendous first part of the year, but he did not close the deal...again. I did not think anyone could catch him, but he stumbled late in the season, even failing to catch a limit on the second day of the lake jordan tourney. Skeet left the door open a crack, and KVD and Edwin Evers passed him in the last tournament.

I have taken to using them to fancast an area after I have fished it with my spinnerbaits, senko/swimsenko, rage craw, and crankbaits. It is many times good for one more fish. Plus, they are cool to watch ;D

Are they comparable to the Trion, or the BPS pro qualifier? Never used one before, but they look like a great deal. I have several prodigy baitcasters ...they are made by Daiwa. I have owned and used several baitcasters thus far, including shimano citica 200D, bps pro qualifier, revo s, revo sc, revo sx, pinnacle inertia?, and I think the cabelas reel stacks up very nicely, at least as good as most, and in my opinion, better than the pro qualifier. For 69.00 bucks, you would be hard pressed to beat it. Again, this is just my opinion.

try adding a sureset hook on the back end of the bait. I have noticed an increase in hookups by doing this. And they usually get hooked on the sureset part of the hook. I only use these hooks on topwaters as regular crankbaits sure seem to set on rocks, wood, and anything else ;D

black jointed jitterbug early and late....they just can't resist this lure. cabelas baby bass dig-it crankbait ...I catch one or two fish on this little bait every time I go. I can't remember the last time I did not hook up with this. Lastly, and the big secret, I have been smacking them for the last month or so with a GYCB swim senko on a 1/8 ounce weighted hook. Rigged properly, it will swim and wobble.

I rig them with a zoom fluke, or a yum houdini shad. I usually use the 1/4 ounce with the large bill. If rigged properly, both baits will swim w/ a very seductive side-to-side, rolling, swimming action. I have not tried other baits with the scrounger heads yet. I usually just retrieve them back with a slow consistent retrieve. If I am not getting bites, I will try to start and stop the retrieve, but have had most luck just "swimming" it back.
