Smallmouth can eat a 4" tube with no problem. I know most people think "downsize" for smallmouths, but in reality, you don't have to. (IMHO...)

The jury is still out in my court on vibration from spinnerbait wire diameter. I'm leaning towards the idea that thinner wire actually absorbs/ disperses vibration rather than increases it. Either way, i think the blade matters most.

Okay, cats outta the bag. I have tried many skirt colors and trailers, but i have it dialed in for (at least) cloudy conditions. 1 tab blk/ blue flake, 1/2 tab blk/ red flake, and 1 tab of chartr. barbed wire, with a red band. Of course, trailer color does not matter. iamboredandneedtogofishing

A painted red Johnson Silver Minnow with a green/black silicone skirt affixed to the line tie, with the back half of a lizzard for a trailer. I usually shrink-wrap a loud rattle to the weedguard....
