  1. Stringjam- you are so right sir. I am full of lame responses. I have been working on it but it is not easy. Sorry to all that i offended and/or disappointed.
  2. You guys crack me up. A rod for square-billed shallow cranks? It certainly should be my 6' 8.45" med. tailspinner (for braid), or my 7' 1.75" mh Hellbender rod. 'Nuff said.
  3. JDuncan- all the rods with the same bait? Confidence? Really? How about crazy? Boring? So you are gonna catch bass on that lure if they like it or not, eh? Good luck with that....
  4. It's a dumb question. People must realize that there ARE dumb questions.
  5. Weekday fishing....how cool is that? I hope to retire someday, but i don't know if i can stop working. As much as i love fishing, i don't think i could every day. Congrats!
  6. I kinda go against the grain as far as head color goes. I don't care if it has any or not. I used to paint mine (airbrush) and then seal with 2 - ton. For the last 4 years i leave them raw with no different results. Same with jigheads. I won't paint again unless i'm bored some winter....
  7. Raul- i'll ask. First cast meaning: bad knot? In a tree above water? in a tree below water? A big gar bite you off? too strong a hookset? Reel engage on the cast? a buddy cutting it off on the backcast?
  8. I rig them on a jighead, 1/4 to 1/2 oz., depending on depth or speed that i need. Roundball, football, or shadheads without brushguards. When i want a more weedless set-up, i use a spiderhead.
  9. Battle scars, man! Nothing cooler than a hardbait that loses it's luster with a bunch of fights. I would leave it alone.
  10. No vote from me. I think it's lame to solicit votes from people throughout the world that have never fished within thousands of miles of that town. Who are you - the Mayor? Just kidding..had to bust your chops a little. later...
  11. I can't remember.....
  12. I hope it's Mark....i haven't seen him for awhile.....
  13. So far (this year) for me it's been a 4" fluke on a scrounger head.

None of my fishing buddies are into fishing as deep as i am, which is fine, but they can't bring much to the conversation. This is where Bass Resource saves the day. When i need to talk fishing, BR is where i'll be.
  15. I repainted a chub bug in a perch pattern on the belly, hoping to mimic a perch laying on it's side. Looks cool, but that's about it.
  16. I would suggest that you buy 2 spinning outfits: #1- 6.6' to 7' med. light, and #2-7' med. or mh. This way you can fish most any type lure, and your friend can go with you. If she gets into it, and has some fun, you could then introduce her to the bait monkey. There you go....

I just hope they play the full season. The Lions' first pick (Fairley?)DT, should make that d-line one of the best in the league. (pretty darn good last year)They needed lb and db, which i guess they will address through free agents. I don't know anything about the wr & rb they drafted, but as we all know...it's a crapshoot. I'm looking forward to the Lions hosting a monday night game again. Ticket $$$ must be paid in full by the end of the month. I must be in the front row!!!!
  18. Clayton- maybe you should spend some time with a book to learn how to spell and write.
  19. A 1" twister on a 1/32 oz. jighead, 4# mono. Mid april, Belleville lake with my wife. Just trying to catch anything, i hook into 45+ in. musky. Got her to the boat twice, probabally about 5 minutes (felt like 15)i finally try to collar her, lifted her head out of the water- it shook, and i let go. Down it went, snapped the line, my wife took some photos when it got close to the boat, and one when i lifted her barely out of the water. (i don't use a net) I guess i really didn't catch her after all...never mind.
  20. Snook - i miss those rotary phones a little also. The noise they made while dialing was pretty cool. The coiled 25' handset cord so you could talk in another room? not so much...
  21. I played with some last year, they will be used more this year. I basically used it as a spinnerbait on those few days with very little or no wind.
  22. How about the "tryout" commercial on tv with all the different animals. Pay attention to the lion as he says something derogatory. I know what he is saying.
  23. More times than not, we old - fogies know what we're talking about, or, at least, have a clue.
  24. What's not to like? The forums are still the same. There does seem to be alot of "new" traffic, which sometimes is a plus. Sir Snook loves his rotary phones...
  25. Look at that thing. Do you really want a bass within 2ft. of all that? I hope you fish muddy water. The weight looks like a 3/8 oz. or less (not enough), and you still have to tie three knots, so you don't save any time either. I agree with lynyrdsky1, just do it the old way. Keep tinkering though.. it's fun and you may come up with something...
