  1. Abu 5600c4 until i get my 4600c3 fixed. These will outlast a simularily priced low profile (plastic) reel in my opinion. I can destroy a $100 low profile reel in one year deep cranking. My 5600 is about 10 years old, and the 4600 is about 20. (not in service for the last 6 yrs. or so.) I don't palm while cranking, so a low profile is not important to me...
  2. Good one CATT.
  3. I never had that problem.
  4. Dad told me never to volunteer for anything that you don't know what your volunteering for.Is he right? I am curious....i'm in if i like it.
  5. I'd like to listen for a little while...
  6. Rhino-you are so right. In most cases, it does get overblown. Sometimes they get it right. Stay safe all who meet her path.
  7. Hi KBK...i've seen these , but haven't heard too much about them.
  8. I remember fake cigarettes targeted to children in the 60's. They weren't even candy, but a look-alike cig that had talcom ( or some kind of powder in them), that you could blow out to look like smoke. Nothing edible at all! Try to sell something like that today... (i have no kids either) later...
  9. I'm with you , LUND. Noise pollution sux. Please use your systems in a responsible way. Not picking on you fish, but the first thing i think of when i hear music too loud for the area or time of day is: i hope you blow your eardrums out and your vehicle burns to the ground. I don't even care if it's a song that i like. I'm tired of the "look-at-me" crowd in any form. (loud music, tats, videos, etc.) Tread lightly and carry a big stick.....geez, i sound like my dad..
  10. Dang! i can still taste the pulled-pork sandwiches from Knoth's (i think, it's been 30+ yrs)bar-b-q by the Kentucky dam. I remember the owner taking my dad and i in the back to show us his set-up. He had 12 - 20 shoulders a smoking and i was in heaven. He had hired 2 girls to just pull the pork apart. It cost $5.85 per pound back in the 70's, and was well worth it. Nothing like it.
  11. Did Schwinn make the Orange Krate also? There was a kid around the block that had one. Smallish front tire, springer front end, sorta looked like a chopper...
  12. I never had their catalog, but a guy in my school had one (circa 1970ish). As i remember it, it did cover most all things outdoors. (fishing, hunting, camping) Don't forget the adds for Sports Liquidators in F&S, Outdoor Life, etc. I bought the 25 lures for 14.95 and still have a few today. They were knock-offs of popular baits of the day...
  13. RW- this helps prove that playing qb in the NFL is the hardest job in team sports.
  14. I fish clear water all the time, and use c/b/f XL on 4 of my rigs. I can see hits easier in bright sun or overcast skies, so it works for me. Does it alert fish? i don't know, and i don't care.
  15. Myth #227: Jerkbaits (incl. suspending) are cooler-water baits.

  17. My guess would be that they are not the same, but it's just a guess. Try their website if you don't get any help here...

  20. Hey rootbeer, is L. Mike your dad?
  21. I don't fish tourneys, but if i did i would make one. Use 1 foot of an aluminum yardstick, 3 shower curtain rings, and three well-placed drilled holes. Cost: maybe $1
  22. Slonzep - looks like he's choking (the bears) again. I can't talk (being a Lions fan), but LOOK OUT FOR THEM LIONS!! A week from this friday and i'm back in my seat. I can't wait. PLEASE let us have a full year with our QB.
