  1. Yep, but only after you have a setup you can live with. the motor will have additional mounting holes that will allow this. Be careful though. You could raise the motor to high and it will create a problem with the water pickup. Also, if you raise the motor you will probably have to adjust the hole you were in that allowed the boat to plane. Every change will affect the other changes you have made. Go slow.
  2. Wayne P I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one.
  3. Heck yea. I've been ready since May. Let's get it on! ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Channelview area. Remember the cheerleader mom story? She lived several blocks from where I live. If you are interested in doing some fishing just let me know. My back seat is always open to anyone that wants it. If I am going you do not need to help with any expense. I fish Rayburn, Conroe, Tbend, and others regularly. Since I have recovered from my neck issues I am fishing 3-4 days a week. I'll be fishing Rayburn, T-Bend, Conroe, and Fayette County alot next year. We'll have to try and hook uo sometime. Do you fish Salt Water at all? Nope, too busy prefishing and fishing tournaments. As soon as this storm passes I an going to hit Conroe if you are interested. Let me know.
  5. Fish have short memories. Just go fishing and forget about all the boats that have been on the water.
  6. I would fill the livewells so that you can set it the way you fish. I think you will find that the second or third hole will be your best bet. I would look at possibly raising the motor a notch also. Several things to do before you start a prop search. When you get the setup you want then you can start looking at the operating rpms to see if you need to go up or down on the prop pitch. Good luck
  7. Zellamander, I totally agree with you. So many of our laws are so stupid. Probably goes back to some old suit sitting in an office with nothing better to do and realizes the old suit judge owes him a favor. I will never understand the reasoning to limit fishing on some of our waters. Silly, silly, silly...
  8. that, my friend, is a whole nother story. If the boat and/or motor are titled you can obtain a title on the trailer by applying for a homebuilt trailer title. At least you can here in Texas. Good luck
  9. If I am wrong, then so be it. I too think it is silly to keep someone off the water just because of the motor hanging on the rear. If they are operating within the speed limits or other restrictions they should have the same opportunity to fish as anyone else as long as they just idle along. This sounds to me as if it is nitpicking and some just may be a little jealous of the higher HP boats. What other reason could it be? Heck, they may be breaking the letter of the law; however, if ideling, they are causing no one any problems and are certainly moving around the lake at a much lower speed than someone with a jon boat and a 10hp hung on the rear. We all pay to enjoy the outdoors. Our money to purchase a fishing license goes into the Wallup-Breau fund to enhance our lakes and rivers( Or it is supposed to), so I cannot see the idea of penalizing anyone that wants to fish a body of water as long as they are safe and courteous. Again, if you have problems with this activity, contact lawenforcement and have them start ticketing the guys with the larger motors. If enough of you raise cain they will began to moniter the water and ticket accordingly. I just think it is crying foul when it is not necessary. JMO!

  11. I live on the east side of Houston and we are staring at Eduard in the gulf this morning. My home sits 1 1/2 mile from salt water. I am going to ride it out. Hopefully it will not build to be a hurricane.
  12. I fished in the Dallas area all last week in temps from 104-108. It was a killer. Came home yesterday and now I'm stareing Eduard in the face this morning. My home sits 1 1/2 mile from salt water. Think i'm going to try to ride it out though. The eye should come real close from what they are saying.
  13. He was on that jet ski.
  14. Talk to law enforcement and get their take on it. They may not be aware of this and if it is a strict rule then they should be ticketed. Be aware though that they may allow it to an extent as long as everyone is safe and sane on the water. If it is strictly enforced then yes they are breaking the law. That may be the Chief and one of his deputies in that boat. LOL.
  15. Move the motor to the hole that allows the motor to tuck up under the boat then start working your way out to get the correct location. I would leave the hydrofoil on it as most on here that have them say that it helps.
  16. Assuming that the HP restrictions are for safety and to keep lake shore from erosion due to large wakes I see no problem with the picture as long as they just idle with the large motor. What's the difference if they mount a 15 next to it and use it? Looks to me as if they are being careful and abiding by any speed limit. Several lakes in my area that do the same and no one says a word(including lawenforcement) as long as they act responsibly. JMO.
  17. Cover water Fish your strengths Map study Map Study Oh, and did I say map study?
  18. Just because it says Ranger on it does not mean it is worth the 3500.00. That boat is 25 years old and could(And probably does) have many things wrong with it. Transom Flooring Wiring Trailer engine Carbs Just to name a few. Water test it and have a mechanic go over it carefully before you decide. Check title paperwork also.
  19. Good, then maybe you can help me with mine. FYI, you were right Saturday night. When we got through my wife had spent a bundle. Thanks for the warning though.
  20. I use it a lot. Without a boat I am not sure how much use you will get out of it. You can purchase them for 19.95 plus shipping several places.
  21. Mike, go buy you a 565 bird. I'll show you how to work it at Fork.
