  1. No, you have nothing to tow it with.
  2. Try not soremouthing your fish on practice day. Go in get a bite or two and go try to duplicate the same in another area. Stay away from all dock talk. It has ruined many a fisherman. Go do your own thing. Confidence will grow as you learn to do it on your own. It's known as putting a pattern together, and it is not hard to do. The fish will tell you everything you need to put it together.
  3. I suggest you keep that info to yourself. As little grass left someone will get on it and it will not be a secret very long. Good job, glad I could help you out. I will have to check that area out before the carp eat it up. I have been fishing in the Dallas area all week so I will not be back until Sunday. I will be back on Conroe on Tuesday. Glad you got your new PB. Conroe can dish out some monster fish.
  4. Here is an example of people not knowing or just being stupid. I have been in the Dallas area all week fishing and on Lake Grapevine last weekend a fool was standing in the bow at night when another boat cut them off. The operator cut back on the throttle and of course the man on the bow went over the front. Prop went right through his head. funeral was this week.
  5. Now that's nice work. Congratulations!
  6. Snowbass23 nailed it. Get the dealers to demo several different boats before you buy. none can tell you anything but looks sitting on a showroom floor.
  7. Good job Todd!
  8. I have a question. WTH are you doing in a boat without some instruction on the operation. Great way to hurt yourself as well as anyone in the area. Please get some instructions and on the water tips before you hurt yourself and anyone else. Boating is serious business, if in doubt, check out the fatalities in your area each year. The questions you have are boating 101. You should not be behind the wheel without someone getting on the water with you and giving some tutoring. I bet you did not crawl in a car and start driving down the highway. If you think I am coming down on you , you're right. Get some help. Three have been killed in the Houston area this last week on the water. It can and does happen in a heartbeat.
  9. I don't think I would have told that.
  10. This guy has been tried three times and given the death sentence three times and still he sits. All the inmates refer to him as god because he has beaten the thing so long.
  11. Fished it two days last week. Most fish were caught either way back under a dock or the brush piles out off the river channels. I was fishing up lake above Ankorage Marina. If you are close to the river you are close to most of the fish.
  12. Just a thought but why not check the circuit breakers in your home. Also, check the fuses that are built into the plugs at the wall. I have blown them from time to time jacking with stuff.
  13. A skunk to me is not catching a legal(14" in most Texas lakes) tournament fish.
  14. As a fellow police officer myself, I think he got exactly exactly what he deserved. I understand that some people think that it is terrible that this criminal lost his life. But what about the Police Officer??? This guy killed a fellow cop and they thought they could just put him in jail in the same area that the cop worked?? No way I don't know who kill this guy but I think justice was served. Although some people think he should just do a life sentence while I am totally against any life sentences. Since people are in jail someone has to feed them and that someone is You, Me and everyone in the USA that pay taxes. I like the old DEATH SENTENCE myself!!! Just my 2 cents but I feel strongly about this type of stuff. Nitroman, you and I would get along just fine. There is a man on deathrow here in Texas that killed a member of my family(He was serving a warrant). Shot the officer five times in the chest. That was 24 years ago and he is still sitting on death row. I have a seat reserved at the deathhouse if it ever happens.
  15. We get checked pretty often. Heck, we know most of them so they just come over to talk and will look to see if we have lifejackets. One time in my life have I had a warden go through my boat and ask for everything. Most will not bother you once they have time to get to know you. We turn in a lot of people so they are comfortable with us.
  16. 3.69-3.78 depending on where you buy.
  17. Since you said the compression is 125 on each cylinder the motor is not down a cylinder. Most of the V-6 Mercury motors that our shop rebuilds come in with damage due to a fuel delivery issue. Start with the fuel line and all filters. Be sure to see if your motor has a filter mounted up on the motor. This is the most over looked filter as most people do not know it is there. Since we only work on Mercurys I cannot be sure if that motor has one. I bet it does though. Are you running an ethynol mix in your fuel? If so that is probably the problem. The earlier floats in the carbs are not designed to work with that mixture. I think you will find that the floats have absorbed the mixture and will no longer float. they will need to be replaced. Good luck and let me know what you find or if I can help you.
  18. I don't use one on my Skeeter, nor do I need one. I can see how they might help with performance issues.
  19. Like Muddy said.
  20. Throw a Senko, Spinnerbait, and a rattletrap in front of a Speckeled Trout or Bull Red and whatch what happens.
  21. That happens a lot down here in Texas. Many fish shorter than the 11-12" worms we throw are caught using them.
  22. Or a Racky Worm
  23. It is a fuel delivery problem. Start with the inline filter and check to see if there is a filter mounted on the motor. this is probably going to be your problem. then go with a new bulb and fuel line hose. I'm not sure if that model has the filter up on the motor, I deal only with the V-6. I bet it does and it is usually the one that gets missed. Good luck.
  24. I had to vote for Todd since he's local.
