  1. (chuckling ;D) Good stuff
  2. A short list of my preferences are these: keeping in mind that anything can change on whim if I get a notion that the fish want something different Spooks and super spooks for choppier water rain, wind etc. Sammy and gliding type walkers for slick water and or spooky fish. Poppers for calm water, especially spitters.Large poppers for choppier water. Props...Hmmm,depends on how loud or subtle the bait is,but I do like em in dirty water. Chuggers or blooping types I like in or around heavy cover.
  3. Cool,I have never even been on Cabela's website before. My thoughts exactly Senko77. I have spent/used well over 50.00 on plastics in the last 3 weeks or so and guess what? I never caught anything over 4 lbs : Yes, it is well up there in price but keep in mind that this lure is multiple purpose and it's many uses and variety of retrieves and depths make it unique 8-)
  4. And IMO that gentleman said it best. Just because MOST of us release the fish after we catch them does that mean we are being kind to them? We are only doing it so that we or someone else can catch them and cause bodily injury and or trauma again : It's your fish and as long as you know what your getting into and are willing to accept it I don't see a problem either Also remember that anytime somebody is doing something that they enjoy there is always going to be someone there to say its wrong or you can't do it >
  5. Anybody know where I could find one of these :question Tackle warehouse is all backordered with the discount price of 49.99 :-/ not sure where else to look. Thanks :-)
  6. This obviously has to be some kind of joke,RIGHT?!?!
  7. Brought a smile to my face It's nice that people like that just want to start a casual friendly conversation but sometimes I wonder why they don't think about what they are saying first.Like the ones that ask if I am going fishing as I pull up with my boat :
  8. Your rod should be okay...but thats stretching it a little.Your better off with a 7 MH also to get the fish out of any cover.More importantly braided line will help immensely.
  9. Zoom black emerald. It is black with large green flakes and a very small amount of reds thrown in. I have used craws, trickworms, and brush hogs in this color and it is killer! I looked at one place online for centipedes or double ringer zooms in this color but haven't found any yet.I think it is a new color for them so it may not be available throughout their product line yet.I'll keep checking.
  10. I don't mind paying that much for one single lure anymore. The problem I got is when you need to get a couple or several colors in a certian bait that will rip a hole in your pocket in no time. That includes Rapala too.I have at least 300.00 in Dt cranks alone as all the colors work so well.
  11. COOL! I got the fish jumping out of my window and I superglued a rattletrap in it's mouth.
  12. Man,it's amazing how that seems "dirt cheap". Lowest I can find round here now is 3.58.
  13. About how big is it? Looks like it might have been made for saltwater :-?
  14. Chef Burley in the house! Sounds like it's right down my alley
  15. Those cranks are great and have that perfect little threadfin profile.I have used a few times and had success. The suspending 3-d minnow and the floating crystal minnow are great too. The topwater bannana boat minnow(walker) and the zz pop popper are junk! Look nice and thats all your paying for.
  16. And you made a pretty decent choice as this lure can be used in a wide variety of conditions, water clarity, locations etc. Where is the lure now? Or has this thread fizzled out?
  17. Yeah me too! ;D That's all, 8-9 lbers !!?? I catch 14-16 lbers all the time.I just don't post pictures because I don't want people getting jealous and hating on me. (sorry bassmaster,I had to join the fun too.)
  18. x5, 6, and 7 too... I won't buy the new one. The last four or five have been so boring. It isn't Metallica anymore, it's like they are trying to copy whatever is currently hot in music in an attempt to stay relevant. The clincher was St Anger. It was so bad that I couldn't even believe it. All I could hear was Christopher Walkin on SNL saying "More Cow Bell"... Dreadful stuff... I think the new song is another so-so attempt... x1000 But even if Dave likes the new Metallica, thats cool, consider what other kinda crap these kids are calling music these days and tell me which is worse :-X
  19. Thats called learning tricks of the trade. This also builds confidence in lures or lure types because you know how to get them to hit it. This inevitably leads to feeding "the monkey" too :-/
  20. Black and blue, junebug,or okeechobee Rage Tail craw with a small bit of chart spike it on the tips of the claws.
  21. The gliding rap sounds pretty sick-can't wait!
  22. I couldn't catch a fish even in my dreams on an Ika but I wouldn't go as far to say they are a joke or don't work. There is way to much positive testimony. It is also very durable. Just not my bait though. LEO: If you are using senkos alot try the nail on those too.Slide it right in the tail OR slip it in behind the hook just like a worm rattle. The allows you to dead stick the bait in one spot longer as the bait falls away from you on slack line.It also makes it skip even better. I dont hear people talking about weighting the senkos with nails too much.Everyone wants that "horizintal fall". No doubt it works, but falling tail first is killer too.In fact there is no wrong way to fish or rig a senko.I have even rigged texas with a sliding bullet weight.
  23. I had 10-15 MPH winds and not even the slightest drop of rain.Everyone here was making such a big deal out of it,but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
  24. Rock on! Phil Anselmos side project band "Down" is awesome too 8-)
