  1. All of the above and the Schuylkill River!! Where exactly outside of Philly are you?
  2. I just left my local Ollies. They had a lot of Z Man chatter baits but all were 3/8s. I stocked up and now I'm thinking of going back for more.
  3. Rubber stretches! Just push the rubber down over the barb and slide it off.
  4. I fish a pond in NE PA. The beavers dam the spillway constantly. I like to keep the water level up by leaving the beaver dam in place but if heavy rains are expected I try to get the beaver dam height down below the level of the earthen dam to prevent the water from washing over the top of the earthen dam. When we knock the beaver dam down the water level drops about 2 foot. My experience is that the larger bass move back away from the dam when the water is down. I can still catch some smaller bass near the dam but no where near the number or the size I catch when the level is up just two feet. BTW those beavers make some tough dams!!
  5. I've had mine for about a month.

The latest model the 457 has the new safety.
  7. I agree. There is info on YouTube on how to do it. The last thing you want to happen is have a bearing go on a trip.
  8. Never seeing them!!! I release just about everything so if I loose one at the boat after I got a decent look its no big deal. But I have had some big fish on that I never got a look at and they leave me wondering.
  9. My son has the same one and it works great. I have another style but this is my favorite. The weight makes a big difference.
  10. Yep! Or a ball head jig with a twister tail. I use the light jig and twister tail on the upper Delaware, the Susquehanna and the St Lawrence and it produces in rocky areas. The area you described also describes many of the areas I fish on the St. Lawrence. Good luck!
  11. I purchased Nikko hellgrammites on Amazon. I have not had a chance to use the Nikko's yet but they look good. Here is what I bought. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076DG183M/?coliid=I1CND0XB880TYI&colid=W5JBCQ4M82V&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
  12. Size 10? I'd bet your not evening hooking the bass. They are grabbing the jig and holding on for the ride and when they open their mouth the jig is pulled free.
  13. Mine are not auto inflate units.
  14. You have power to some accessories. That means the battery has some life in it. If the line was intact you would hear a click or get some indication there was some current getting to the motor. Since your not even getting a click that indicates to me the line is open somewhere. BTW I see some guys mention a volt meter. Good idea! You can pick a cheap one up at Harbor Freight. If you do then use it to check the voltage at the staring motor. If there is no voltage after the key is turned that would confirm an open line. If there is voltage then you might have a bad starter, battery or solenoid. BTW your battery should be putting out about 13.4 volts if it is in good condition. Your engine will start and run on less but strange things happen when voltage drops.
  15. I have two I bought from Cabela's at least ten years ago. The instructions say to change the bottle if the green indicator turns to red. After all these years they are still green. I have opened them up and the contents are in like new condition.
  16. If nothing happens when you turn the key you have an open line. Does the line to the starter have a fuse or a breaker? Are the connections clean and tight? Have you tried jumping the kill switch to make sure it is not bad.
  17. Nice boat. Good luck with the Tohatsu. I hear nothing but good things about them.
  18. DanielG Your experience with the Curado DC mimics my experience. Its a learning experience for me. Keep us updated.
  19. My Ollie's had the Pointer for $6.00 but they only had red and white. I passed and left. After I thought about it and that I could paint them I went back a few days later and they were all gone. I missed a great opportunity.
  20. I set the hook as soon as I feel a tap, weight or change of direction. Very few fish I hook are hooked deep. BTW I use the Z man jig head.
  21. As the others have said open it up to the air and let it dry out. Rice will absorb the moisture in some of the hard to get to places. .
  22. I just had the complete opposite experience with ONE Z-Man jig head. I fished a couple of private ponds and a local creek 6 times in the past two weeks. I used the same 1/5 oz. Z-Man jig head and two different colored TRDs on an ultra lite bait caster with 14 lb. braid with a 8 lb. mono leader. I caught about 50 to 60 bass and a mess of crappie and blue gills. The biggest bass was 4.5 lb. There were two between 3 and 4 lb. and the rest were mostly between 1 and 2 lb. I stuck with this outfit because I wanted to see if the TRD was as indestructabe as I have read. I changed colors because it seemed one color wasn't producing during one trip. Both TRDs are mangled but still usable. The jig head is perfectly fine minus a little paint from bouncing along the bottom in the creek. Many of the pond fish came to the boat wrapped in weeds sometimes doubling their actual weight. The hook never failed or deformed. It is still on the rod ready for the next trip.
  23. I don't know but she is pretty neat.
  24. About a month ago I found a Shakespeare UL bait casting rod in a closeout bin at Walmart. It was less than $5.00. I couldn't pass it up...…..like I needed another rod but I thought it would be great for Ned rigs on the Susquehanna. I had an old Shimano Bantam reel that hadn't been used in years. I loaded it up with some 14 lb braid, a fluro our leader and went fishing. I never made it to the Susqy but in four trips to a friends pond I have been killing LM and crappie's on the Ned rig. My biggest LM so far was about 4.5 lb and all have come on the same TRD. Those TRDs are indestructible. I'm going to keep fishing the same one until its gone or falls off the hook. BTW I tried a Power Bait ribbon tail worm on the Ned head. That worked great but only lasted for 3 fish.
  25. Like A-Jay said "an OBND thread (old but not dead)". I'm still running a 10 hp Evinrude on my john boat. I purchased it new in about 1981. I keep saying I need a newer motor but the old one keeps starting.
