  1. I'm old and have worn glasses all my life. Six months ago I had cataract surgery and they implanted a new lens. I can see 20/20 without glasses. It is great BUT now I am beginning to realize how important those glasses were for everyday activity. Now I have reading glasses and safety glasses in the house, shop and shooting bag. I am considering a new pair I can wear all the time with just a bifocal.
  2. Yes, but don't tell anyone.
  3. I have two boats, 4 ATVs and two lawn tractors. They are on full time battery chargers or Battery Minders all the time. I do use maintenance free batteries on the lawn tractors because I get them cheap. I cannot check or ad water to the lawn tractor batteries. The rest are standard batteries that take water. The batteries that take water are replenished with water as needed and they frequently need water because they are on charge full time. The battery you bought appears to have caps meaning it is not maintenance free. In that case you will need to add water as needed.
  4. I use regular Seafoam in my boats, ATVs and lawn tractors. I swear by the stuff for regular maintenance.
  5. My opinion...too expensive and the dividers take up too much room in the box.
  6. Bigger and heavier hooks that take more effort to set.
  7. Great points. The only other thing I would suggest would be that maybe he is fishing particular pieces of structure / cover rather than the bank in general. BTW how was the water color. Could you see structure.
  8. They sound like engine oils. The lower unit needs an 80/90 wt. gear oil. I use the Walmart stuff. Check the specs and you will find it is right up there with the more expensive lube.
  9. Nope! I thought the opposite until a few years ago. I shared spots and techniques with everyone. One day a guy on another forum wanted to fish a place I was familiar with. I gave him specific spots and techniques. About week later he posts a photo of a picnic table completely covered with 2 to 3 pound dead SMs. A lot of guys responded to the post asking why he killed so many fish. He replied he and his buddies needed them to eat. That was BS. The area is loaded with resturants. There was no reason to kill those fish. I have not given out any info since then because people have no respect for the resource.
  10. That happened to me a few weeks ago. I ordered about 6 plugs and two cases of shotgun ammo. Everything was in stock when I added the items to the cart but when I hit the order button everything was out of stock. I went back and tried to add the items to my cart and this time everything was out of stock.
  11. I match the size of the swivel to the particular plopper. I have them from 90s to 130s. As for make I use what the local bait shop has.
  12. All of the above and I'd include a few top water baits.
  13. I put a dedicated swivel on every whopper plopper I have. I fish weeds and weed edges and the weeds will jam up the plopper and cause it to spin. I have had no issues with line twist since I added the swivels.
  14. He said he wants to open a bait company not a butcher shop. ?
  15. I use my boat to hunt ducks and use the main anchor and two Scotty kayak anchor mates to hold the boat in place when using it as a blind. I was going to buy a pair of Talons last year and then got the idea to use the Scotty anchor mates on each side of the front of the boat. They work great and are easy to use. I can deploy them faster than I can a Talon and a lot cheaper.
  16. Unavailable probably because a lot of it comes from China which is / was also shut down. TW shows a lot of stuff I buy on backorder but nothing I buy is listed as unavailable.
  17. Go to here and put your numbers in. You may not need an 80 lb thrust motor. https://www.minnkotamotors.com/learn/buying-guide/trolling-motors
  18. I fish for pike and musky and I use some big baits. Many times I have bass and other small fish hit the big lures. Sometimes the lure is bigger than the bass.
  19. I just saw this: https://shopdunns.com/product/quantum-smoke-s3-pt-low-profile-baitcast-reel-sm100/
  20. The SportsPal is only a little thicker than a soda can. There are plenty of other and better options than welding.
  21. The SportsPal is too thin to weld. I patched a hole in mine with a thin piece of aluminum, some rivets and Marine Tex. Another adhesive would be Dupont 5200. It is tough stuff.
  22. For a few years....many years ago.....I kept a log with all the pertinent information but I was spending more time tending to the log than fishing. I would like to do it again to have the info for reference but it does take times and sometimes you get into fish you do not have time to do anything besides catch fish which is why I'm out there in the first place.

I use red all year. I don't limit it to a particular season.
  24. I have a 1448 Jon and it is the smallest I would consider with regards to stability. There are times I wish it was a little wider.
