how to keep fish alive on stringer
I can't believe somebody would actually run a tourney like this. Let alone the state or owner of the pond or lake being cool with the idea. This sounds like a good way to kill a whole lot of fish.

Lake Erie Largemouth
Went to one of my favorite harbors on Lake Erie Sunday. We ended up with 35+ largemouth in the 12" to 13" and a few nice keepers. Here are some pics of the better fish...OH yeah I caught at least 15 drum too. Not a stellar day but fun!!!!!

Well, just 192 days to go...
They are the best of the best that - can afford to fish the Opens and qualify for the Elite Series - can afford the $5,000 per tournament entry fee - can acquire the best sponsors along the way - can exhibit better than average fishing ability on different waters - actually WANT to fish the Elite Tour . X2 I agree 100%

Some Allegheny River Smallies
BEAUTIFUL FISH !!!!! I love the Allegheny !!!

Well, just 192 days to go...
There are much better fish to be had in the Ohio river. The problem there was they were only allowed to lock through so far. The needed to be further up the Allegheny or further down the Ohio. My old club my dad still fishes with was there 2 Sundays ago in the New Cumberland pool and it took 12# for first place. I am not saying the competition has to be a sssoooooooo slow but a little tougher. Supposedly these are the best bass fishermen right?

Buying new boat...
I am sure you can find a used tr-20X aith a 225 opti in that price range. That would be better than any listed above!!

Smallie smashin with Bronzeback Bomber (long read + pics)
Great fish!! but drop the photoshopping please. Nobody is lookin to steal your spot where you have been catching average smallies. It takes away from the pics big time!!!

What size line do YOU use on MH spinning rod??
Spinning 10# P-line Halo or flouroclear. Baitcasters 15# of the same lines. I use Yo-Zuri hybrid when P-line is not available. Also I live in Ohio and all my rods but my, Flippin stick, one baitcasting road and a drop shot rod are medium heavy. BC and spinning. I have alot of different lengths though.

I also would rather have the Classic be a tough event. I think that the pros should have to work a little harder to grind out a limit. Like the one on the Ohio river a couple years back. But that doesn't go over to well on t.v. It's all about the Benjamins.

finally PROPPED right!
If Lakeland is close to Orlando I will be comin ther somtime October or definitaly November 11 through ? I would trade you gladly fish some fishin time to help you get the most out of your rig, once you get it, you get it. I can drive all three of the Tritons I spoke of to their limit and they all have slightly different manners. Good luck what ever you decide to do.

finally PROPPED right!
I have a TR-20 w a 6" hydro plate and 225 Opti and here is what I would reccomend for you to try 1. RAISE the jackplate as far as you can without losing water pressure. I have the snorkle intake on the front of the gearcase that lets me raise it all the way without losing pressure, you may too. For some reason raising the plate lessens chine, maybe because there is less of the motor in the water to create drag. 2. Try to drive in a long sweeping right turn. I know you can't always drive right but this helps counteract prop torque. 3. Use very small movements of the steering wheel. When you are idling you really have to turn the wheel to manuever. When you are on plane your movements of the wheel are magnified. If you steering is bled well (I am sure it is) a movement of an inch may be too much to correction. 4. Balance your load as much as you can Chine is basically your boat wanting to go one way and your prop torque pushing it another. Not to mention water movement. I think when prople say they can drive around chine they are just saying the can "balance" the boats motor torque and hull . I have alot of experience driving my boat an two other Tritons. One is a tr-20 w a 200 EFI and 6" hydro plate and the other a tr-20 with a 225 Rude ram and fixed plate. We got these boats at the same time and tinkered around with all to find what worked best for them. All were slightly different but what mentioned above was common to all. Warmer if you have any questions PM me with a phone number and I will give you a call.

best fishing graph for $250 or less?
I broke my front finder and had to get a quick replacement. I bought a Garmin 300c and now I think I will leave it on there. The screen is a little small but, it is bright and works very well. I found online alot cheaper than in a catalog. Here is a link. http://www.davesmarineelectronics.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=12329

finally PROPPED right!
There is a common misconception that you can "drive through" chine walk. You absolutely cannot! proper motor height and trim + tons of seat time will allow you to manage and control chine. I wish I could type faster I would give you tons of pointers on how to deal with it!

What water do you fish?
I fish Lakes from 200 or so to Lake Erie alot. We have a lot of different type lakes here. From deep and rocky to shallow and weedy. Ohio really has good fisheries.

eye hooked bass.
This happens. I will usually cut the hook at the barb. I don't like ripping up flesh or eyeball unless I really have to. Makes me feel a little doctorish and significant on a conservation level. Weird huh?

Tackle - am I missing anything
I think the bait monkey is about to strike!!!! You will end up using two or three baits with utter confidence and fifty sitting in the tacklebox.

Illegal outboard motor use
I can't help but to call you kid. Kids disobey and that is the vibe I get. As far as your cancer is concerned I really am feeling for you. Here is something for you I have never let out in these forums. Last october my 7 year old daughter was diagnosed with ALL. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. I know all too well of clinic days, spinal taps, and chemotherapy sickness along with extended hospital visits. She will be on maintenance chemo and bactrim until Dec. 09'. Here I try not to use this as an excuse for my roller coaster fishing season, but I am definitely not the same man I was in September 07'. I am very much broken but I can not let her know. My wife and I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we will hold it together as long as needed. This is why I stress living life to the fullest under the law. There is so much else to worry about besides bending rules. If the sign says no, fishing find another hole! If it says electric only so be it! If my sign says don't walk on my grass (I HATE THIS ONE) don't walk on my grass. Life is not hard. YOU in particular should know! Cancer treatment has a protocol and life has a basic one too. Don't feel bad for me or my daughter. Feel joy we found why she was feeling so bad and had prompt proper treatment. I hope you are on your way to a great life and full remission. By the way, my daughter would problably not end up in that rape type situation. She has too many people looking over her shoulder at 8 let alone 15. And three mean cousins that would break faces for her. I am not in anyway a bigshot either I work very hard for what I have.

Illegal outboard motor use
I bet her daddy did! Kid, go down to the ramp start a protest and demonstrate til your done pushing buttons. Our gun law in Ohio is meant to keep unskilled marksmen who believe they can shoot 400 yards all pumped up with adrenaline, from shooting me instead. I personally use a muzzleloader during gun season that is good well past 200 yards but, I have never taken a shot over 40 with ANY deer hunting device. My biggest buck was shot through the throat because he looked strait up at me from under my stand 145 inch typical with a compound bow PSE with only 65% let off. Second biggest 139 typical was taken with a slug at 35 paces. Patience pays huge rewards! Your friend would not be facing 10 if he would have waited 2! Some people will just never see the forest through the trees!

Smallmouth Replica Mount ? Which looks better?
They are both real nice! I just think the markings are too good.Color variation is a odd thing with the smalljaws some are all striped up and dark and some are just bronze. All are beautiful. Just get whoever does it the best pic you can and hope he can replicate your fish to that beauty we see. The mounts shown have very, very symmetrical stripes that is my only hang up. Maybe I just stared too long.

Illegal outboard motor use
Come on guys. Wayne P. is so right it makes my head spin reading everybody trying to make a wrong a sorta o.k. We live in America, the most powerful democracy on the planet. We vote for people or things including change. Somewhere along the line a vote was or will be taken on LAWS. Zellamander how about coming to Ohio for deer season? Gotta leave the ole .270, 7mm or any other non-muzzleloading rifle at your house and buy or bring a shotgun with slugs. That is our LAW here and you will have your rifle seized and possibly destroyed for using it. I have no halo and do break the speed limit alot more than I should, and problably break or bend other laws too. Not so much anymore but, I was a pretty wild kid. I got lucky too many times to chance it anymore especially having a family. I have just learned life is much easier to go through following laws and leading MY life. I vote and hope others vote the way I do but, not everyone will. I don't expect everybody here or anywhere to agree with me. Just like I don't really expect to make you see this issue my way, WayneP.'s way or anyway but your way. Continue along your path and do your thing your way. We will all meet up at the great big BASS RESOURCE in the sky and see who fared better in the game of life. Be safe and VOTE thats what I say to those walking the edge.

I have 225 H.P. and get passed on 10 H.P. lakes by just about everyone who has more than 71 lbs. of TM thrust.

long casting
Welcome! 40 feet ? That is more of a long pitch than a long cast. For someone new to casting a 6'6" medium heavy spinning rod with good 10# test should easily get you 40 feet, maybe not super accurate to begin with but at least that far.
