If this is Jim Bug we will definitnatly get toghther this spring and STAY IN OHIO. I know places that give up largemouyh as readily and as large as PIB keep in touch . I really had no time last year as we discussed. This year I should ha ve plenty!

You are right on the money here. I completely agree. I do hold a CCW permit. I carry often with the sole purpose to protect my family. When I am with a group of fellas it stays in the safe. I also respect any business which do not allow concealed carry. My own workplace being one of them!

I had to Replace my Triton Tr-20 trailer after hitting something in a construction zone this year. I replaced it with an tandem axle aluminum trailer and besides a couple fitting tweaks needed it's awesome. The cost was $2499 but, my insurance more than covered that.

I am in Ohio and plan on Fishing Erie for largemouth Friday. Temps are problably in the low 40s to mid 40s. I will let you know how that turns out . We went out the same time last year at the same time and cleaned up! there has been as much as 13" of snow fall up here already.

Has anybody had the chance to use these poppers? They look absolutely awsome! I would like some input from a few who have used them and not just have seen em! They are High end and I am wondering if they are worth the price. I just aquired 4 of em but Ice is coming and topwater is just not an option till next year. Should I Keep em I know I want to keep at least 2 but, The other two color combos may not give me the confidence I need to use them!

Spiderwire is now second rate IMO. Have fun burning fingers and cutting out huge amounts of line from a simple backlash. There are so many better choices now it's funny that you would say haha. You will find out the joke is on you. Newer braids are much more advanced and easier to handle. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, that was a impulse buy that you will problably regret.

Southeast or Southwest Ohio?

I use heavier graphite rods for crankin and therefore put some real strain on my forearm/wrist/shoulder. What I found to work best for prevention/relief is an arm band that you wear just below your elbow available at any wal-mart for about $8. Even the pain from a day of casting heavy baits is reduced or eliminated. I can post a pic if you would like. But I don't know how much it would relieve a shoulder only problem.

In general Canadiens are very, very nice people.I have fished tourneys out of Wallaceburg, Ontario. Partied on New years in Windsor and never had an ounce of trouble. Here I go out for a good time with the wife and almost always have to check some punk in for hitting on her. I would not want to live in Canada but, it sure is a nice place to visit. I have been there at least 20 time in 10 years with very little negative comments Canada. Here are my gripes, gas is sold in liters, border patrol can waste your valueable time, and strippers have to come up with creative ways to get the loonies.But they do love the dollar bill.LOL

You can now buy HD camcorders for about a grand. I don't know if that is what is making the youtube vids HD but I do often see the icon to view some videos in higher quality but it is definitaly not true HD. My monitor is HD and regular DVD has much better resolution than the so called HD youtube vids.

Dude I was just in Florida October 11-17 . From the plain I could see hundreds of small lakes and ponds And drove bye Lake Toho. I was in Orlando but I assume southern florida would be much the same.

These Balboas (like Rocky Balboa) get huge in Lake Erie and will eat anything you generally use for bass. Much bigger baits than you would expect them to. They are very persistent little guys, often holding on to a senko without being hooked all the way back to the boat.

I get queasy thinking about engine noise. The last time my motor made a funny noise I was 3 miles out on Erie. With three broken rods three shattered pistons and fist sized holes in the block from the rods coming through. Dead in the water. I was only at 45 mph and about 3500 rpm. Luckily my brother in law was right behind me in his boat and it was still under warranty. Merc had some problems with the earlier Opti's. I hope you fair better. Boating is expensive.

Agreed! Catch and release can help a fishery, but it can definitely also hurt it. Selective harvesting is often the best choice... Selective harvesting is the way to go but the 20 inchers shouldn't go in the frying pan. JMHO No offense but that smallie is so thin to reach it's 20 inches it must have been an old one and left in the lake. Taking it has been caught within the past few weeks it should be fattening up for winter. I know to well about guessing weights and getting different opinions good and bad, but that fish wouldn't even go 3lbs. Gortons or Van De Camps would be a better meal and CHEAPER than the drive to catch that fish I am 100% with Brat. If there are trophy fish in the lake this one was from it is because other anglers have put fish like shown back to become trophies. Beautiful fish! I have no clue why someone would want to put a blade on those stripes.

Plenty of lakes around here so I am not in your shoes but, I have seen pics on this site from fellas catching peacocks and largemouth in the canals in Miami. I have never been there so I couldn't help you specifically.
