Lb for Lb Whose the Better Fighter
Smallies are more "athletic" and will run and jump like crazy. Largemouth are less so, jumping some but just running down or away. I really am starting to believe the depth of the water has something to do with it too.

Patience vs Confidence
CONFIDENCE!!! Without it, I wouldn't step out of my house! I am confident that my choices will lend me the patience I need to succeed. Often my patience will waste my own time. You can't have any patience without some sort of confidence in what you are doing.

Private vs. Public Lakes
that sounds so boring. yawn............................. i agree. bass fishing is waaaaaaaay too easy. we are cursed with a drastic bass overpopulation problem - especially with those pesky huge ones. as a matter of fact, we really need to remove 3/4 of the bass population from the entire planet. maybe then at least it would be somewhat challenging. soon it will become so ridiculously simple to catch them that everyone will lose interest in fishing altogether. within a few generations, people will even forget how to fish. left unchecked, these previously stupid bass will grow to gargantuan proportions. they will gain superior intelligence, learn to survive outside of water, start eating humans, and eventually rule the world. then, in a crazy "planet of the apes" type scenario, they will fish for us........ I see another member has learned and is using the Budweiser rig Paul. Are you sure you are not guiding this guy and putting him on some of those monsters you POST PICS of?

What is the largest recorded bag of SMB
Before Ohio closed seasons began limits of 30+ pounds were not impossible. I have not seen many over 25 lately. I posted somewhere in this smallie forum a limit weighing 29.71 for five fish. The pics are there and the biggest fish was 6-4 and the others were well over 5 1/2+. That was a great day and have not had a limit of 5 over 25# since. Local Erie tourney guys can really put a hurtin on smallies. Most series now are going with three fish limits to eliminate dead fish floating around million dollar yachts. Good years produce huge numbers here for smallies. cruise this link and you can see how smallie limits have went down over the years. http://www.thex-series.com/tournamentresults/2003-X-Series/PresqueIsle=6-29-03-ALL.php These are all three fish limits at Presque Isle. The best I can remember out of this series was 18# even for three. I can't find it on the site. It may have been 01 or earlier. I hate to think that I have actually been at this for that long. My how time flies! Here is 29.71# http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1209829260/0

The most overrated, crappy band on the planet?
Mettalica sucks? They have made a few bombs but, NOBODY that heavy has ever reached such a large demographic. Motley Crue SUCKS hardcore, making poser music for over two decades and now releasing more poser crap. KISS laid the groundwork for all bands that suck or have ever sucked. The new music today is what it is all the same. I grew up on Aerosmith, The Eagles, Elvis, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and most of the crap that is being touted as crap. I see how many new bands are coming out with the same type music these days and want to yank out my hair. My ipod has such a diverse library that anyone on this site would problably find music they love and hate. I voted KISS because they are in a suck league of their own.

Anyone own a street bike (Crotch Rocket)???
I am sure you are very good at riding a bike, but unless you hit 157 on a track or strip somewhere..... Well, lets just say you were needlessly putting people in danger. Least of the concern would be yourself. The reaction time needed to make an evasive maneuver at 157MPH is pretty much super-human, and as far as I know, your name is not Clark Kent. My bike is basically a racing bike with lights . I definately have a need for speed. Not a need to kill somebody. At 157 the bike is stable, responds well, and is right at home. That being said I rarely exceed 130-140. It has an uncomfortable riding position for cruising and, the powerband is not suited for cruising. People who have never ridden one should back off because, They don't have a clue as to the characteristics of these machines. I will get that pic up today. I gotta go get a haircut real quick and will post it asap.

Night Fishing For Large Mouth.
I fished until 10 p.m. last night. It was dark by 8 and we continued to catch good fish on the same lures we were using when the sun was out. Cranks, tubes, spinnerbaits. The bite never died. we would have stayed later but I had to work today and we were 1/2 hour from home. There were quite a few lights from the city and it was an awesome time! Over 20 good fish each! The wind was ferocious but the fish didn't mind.

Anyone own a street bike (Crotch Rocket)???
Never have put anyone else in danger. I ride responsibly and don't always ride around over 130. I don't weave in and out of traffic or go much faster than the flow of traffic if there is any. I am either out in front of others or behind. I try to avoid packs of 3500lb vehicles. I have been riding on the dirt since 5 and have had a "rocket" since of some sort since 17. I try to be courteous and responsible. I have not got plates for my bike this year because things in my life right now have taken me out of the proper mindset to ride. I have a wife and daughter and am not stupid enough to go out of my way and hurt myself or others. I see people riding like ***** all day and just don't get it! My previous bike was a 02 gixxer 1000 and I did alot more dumb stuff on it than the 600. I traded down to KEEP me from doing too much of the dumb things. Every bike I have ever owned has been insanely fast.

Anyone own a street bike (Crotch Rocket)???
I own a 2003 GSX-R 600. It has many mods. It has been lowered, polished frame, K&N filters, larger injectors, Yoshi fullheader pipe pipe and carbon fiber muffler, recalbraited computer, and it makes about 130 horsepower, about 30 over stock and weighs 328 lbs. What people don't understand is this and many other bike like mine "crotch rockets" were designed to be driven over 140 mph. My bike at 130 mph still feels like you could go much faster without being out of control. I have been to 157 and didn't think much of it. I also have a 02 YZ 250. Thats a fun bike. I will post a pic of my gixxer tomorrow and the yammie soon. I keep it at my sisters house because they own some land and have some place to ride it. IMO it is the operators responsibility to maintain control and know their limits. My boat is very dangerous too ya know but, I still drive it fast!

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
How late can I let you guys know? At this time I can only make plans a couple months out. I really would like to be there and meet everyone.

---> what's you go-to line for jiggin'? <---
Green 65# P-line braid. Tough stuff with the best color retention IMO.

JB Weld on Hull?
Very easy. Heat area and then move in the rod. Heat and the stuff melts like solder but slower. If you don't need any other mods I can send you a couple rods. Save the dough and buy a new reel or something.

Fishing With Ike
Sounds like a great day RW. By the time the wind got really heavy up here, it was 4:00 p.m. My dads club had a tourney and did well. After 4 p.m. sustained winds were problably 30+mph with gust over 50. Massive power outages, school closings, downed trees, roof damage, etc. I wanted to go out on foot as well, but decided to watch movies instead. Anybody that bothered to watch Pittsburg at Cleveland could see that crazy wind. I sometimes light up a smoke to slow myself down. It seems to be an effective technique. KIDS DO NOT ATTEMPT THAT TECHNIQUE!

JB Weld on Hull?
Looking at that website. I realized I used alumalloy. Similar stuff but older I guess. I may still have some left, let me check o.k.

JB Weld on Hull?
This is what you need seriously! www.AluminumRepair.com . I used this on my first jon boat years ago. My friend who bought it from me still uses the boat. No issues. All you need is a propane torch. Very, very simple.

Am I the only one....
My season has been o.k. I guess. Considering I have spent less than half the time I would normally. My tourney season has been just o.k. a few checks with two fifth places and three in the top twelve. My fun fishing trips have been great when I can just get out and fish without worry of a time frame.

Got a line on a 2002 nitro nx 750.
I am not a Stratos fanatic by anymeans but to me, even 5 years older this is a better deal. Sight unseen. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.ebay.com%3A80%2F130253459883_W0QQadgroup_idZ286970115QQcreative_idZ688700055QQfclZ4QQfnuZ1QQfsopZ1QQkeywordZbassQ20boatQQoriginZhttpQ3aQ2fQ2fwwwQ2ebassresourceQ2ecomQ2fbassQ5ffishingQ5fforumsQ2fYaBBQ2eplQ3fnumQ3d1221364452QQtestZGadgetQ5fKWQQtypeZQ7bifsearchQ3asearchQ7dQ7bifcontentQ3acontentQ7dQQfviZ1&item=130253459883
