Step in here for a debate.....(Fishing....Natural Talent vs. Learned Talent?)
"Anyone can cook but, only the fearless can be great" Chef Gusteau Ratatouille. I had a whole story wrote out and the page expired so I will try and shorten it up. IMHO it takes more than natural talent and learned talent. Passion for what you are doing and patience also is huge. I have always been able to cast well and have spent countless hours on the water. With the exception of last year I have spent every spare moment of the last 20 years on the water. Like ww2farmer says some people just have "it". I feel I do and it took natural talent, learned talent, passion, patience and time to get "it". I played baseball, soccer and wrestled but not one of them had me like bass fishing. And once I got into tourneys it also filled my competitive nature.

Red Meat = Death
Um, do you mean "Omnivores"? Yeah I did. Thanks Matt. Duh Right? Had a brain fart.
-
Red Meat = Death
Not that I don't like a nice marbled steak, but our canine teeth are there to eat wild game that is much more lean than corn fed beef and pork. Point being, we are carnivores.

Red Meat = Death
I agree that anything in excess will eventually catch up with you but, I have canine teeth for a reason. I like steak nicely marbled and fatty bacon.

MySpace.com ?
I have both but only check in on them every now and then. I have a friend in the Army overseas and it makes it easier to keep in contact with him. Man, everybody and their brother is on Facebook even people who were not your "friends" want to be your "friend".

impossible to title
X2 I wonder why they didn't say what type of gun he used either. Now he was either a very skilled with a pistol or most likely had an assault rifle. Taking out 4 police officers with vests is pretty tough. I am not a gun control guy and think any law abiding citizen should be able to own/operate any commercially available gun. What gets me is that us law abiding citizens who take time and money to get concealed carry or other type of permits are still very susceptible to these types of criminals. Lawyers and bleeding hearts have put the death penalty almost out of use in most states and truthfully that is what leads to these extremely tragic events because of the lack of fear. WITHOUT FEAR THERE IS NO ORDER. My heart goes out to the families of the fallen officers.

Holy crap!!! That was awesome!!

Keelguard
I have a Hamby's keel protector. Performance I am not sure if it helps because I had it put on my boat before it saw water. What I can tell you is they are invaluable. I can literally pull up on a concrete ramp to let my partner off . It also protects when you beach you boat in general. Good investment!! By the way it is still as stuck on as tight as the day I bought it.

2 Cycle Oil vs 2 Cycle Synthetic Oil

Question about egg development
I understand that most fish spawn in the spring to ensure some of the hatch reaches a big enough size to make it through winter. My question is when do females start to develop eggs? After a heavy gorging in fall and assuming periodic feeding under the ice, it must take an incredible amount of her reserves to gestate eggs. I know they also will gorge before the spawn but this is after the development of the eggs I am guessing. So, I guess my question is basically when do female bass start to develop eggs?

PS3 Hdmi cables
I have a 47" Philips 1080p and a PS3. I use the Wal-Mart HDMI cables for my playstation and cable box. If you have a HDTV and a PS3 and are not using HDMI cables you have know idea what you are missing. A Blu-Ray player or HD-DVD with HDMI connections are the only way to fully realize true 1080p. If you have never seen this set up, when you do it will blow your mind. We also have a 32" Philips 720p in our bedroom and also use the HDMI connections for it. These cables are just easier and cleaner. Even using component cables will not give you true HD. All my cables were bought at wal-mart but, if I had known about that monoprice I problably would have went there.

What covers your boat?
I've got an original extra heavy duty Gambler cover. I am looking for something like a carport to park the boat under and I'm not finding a whole lot of options just yet. Apparently the guy who built the standard metal frame/aluminum roof carport has some kind of monopoly going. Every place I have called gets them from the same dude in Texas and all are within $25 bucks of each other. And this really burns me up. I can get a 18'wide x 21'deep x 9'tall for $700. They want $300 more for a SMALLER carport. 12w x 26d x 7t. What gives? :-? That doesn't sound right. More for less sounds great until you hear some B.S. like that. Did they give you any logical reason for the price difference? You would think that shipping from Texas alone would make the larger one more. I used to store mine indoors in winter (this is the first it has seen outside) I was thinking about one of those plastic carport type deals. Luckily we have only had a couple bad snows and I have been able to keep it relatively snow free. I have everything out of it that can be taken out batteries, sonars, chargers everything. I used to be able to fit it snugly in my garage but I hit some debris in a construction zone and blew a tire. That threw my trailer into the center divider. Totaling it, now my aftermarket trailer is too long.

Lake Erie VS Tennessee...Next WR Smallie
I have personally witnessed unsavory people fishing off breakwalls at Erie catch 6+ pounders throw em in a bucket or basket and think nothing of it. Besides that we still catch small smallmouth so they are still reproducing well. Randy Van Dam caught that Ohio record in the western basin somwhere around the islands I believe.

Metalica on XM/Sirius
Thanks to Howard Stern who claimed "I never want mhy listeners to pay to hear me" and his $500 million dollar contract. Sirius is problably gonna do anything they can to get subscribers. A news report a couple weeks back said Sirius was in bad shape and talking merger with XM I think. They were losing $25 million a quarter in the first couple years after signing Stern. I like Metallica and own every cd they have ever put out but, they are not the most interesting group of guys to here speak. James can be but, Lars is full of himself and Kirk says virtuallly nothing. Does anybody even know or care about their new bassist?

What covers your boat?
I have an original extra heavy duty Triton cover. It is very thick water proofed canvas and fits every curve like a glove. It was a pretty expensive option ($900) but,it was worth it.

Lake Erie VS Tennessee...Next WR Smallie
I vote Erie. I really don't think Tennessee is producing anywhere near the numbers of 7lb+ smallies that Erie is. Erie fish are just slower growing due to the ice over period. Givin time I think Erie will produce 10lb+ fish in the next 4-5 years. We have already seen a 9-5 from Randy Van Dam. Also consider Erie is MULTIPLE MILLIONS of acres and there are still hot spots and unmolested fish to be found.

PS3 Hdmi cables
Buy the cheapest cable you can find. There will be absolutley no difference in $100 monster cables and the $30 cables you can get at Wal-Mart. You can check this out at pcmag.com

What Kind of bass fishing do you wish you had?
Here in Ohio we have a pretty diverse choice of lakes from natural lakes with lilies and grass to rocky reservoirs. And of course Lake Erie. So it's all about what type of fishing you feel like that day or outing.

What are you REALLY good at ? (OK to brag here ;-)
I am really good at being a versatile angler. I have said before I am comfortable with all techniques and I am. I guess I would have to say deep water structure fishing is my strongest. My favorite is pitchin and spinnerbaiting shallow cover.

Tapout founder, Mask, dies in car crash
WOW! That is a crazy scene not to be morbid but, I wonder where his body or peices of his body ended up? You can see blood on in the first pic of what appears to be the carpet.
