  1. Can you spell hoax?
  2. The original Honda 115hp & 130hp 4 strokes were converted Honda car engines from the Civic & the Accord as I remember.
  3. Domestic jerk baits Smithwick Rogues, Rapala HJ , KVD 300 & Berkley Stunna. JDM jerkbaits priced at TW Jackall Rerange 110 MR $18.99, Duo Realis 120SP $14.99, LC Lightning pointer $9.99, LC pointer 100 $15.99 and a real sleeper Ima Flit 120 $10.99. I like Vision 110's especially the color choices but I fish a lot of different jerk baits for both smallies & largemouth & have come to the conclusion that they are not that special, more hype than substance considering the price. I own more than a dozen of them but they are never the first bait I reach for. Just one man's opinion.
  4. Congrats on the sweet trip. Nice looking pike.
  5. Welcome to BR Scott.
  6. I like the swimming & gymnastics events but my favorite is the track & field venues.
  7. Consider that your problem is the result of using a co-polymer leader with braid. I have found out from experience that hard hook sets with braid & co-polymer short leaders cause the leader to break often on a hookset at the hook or just above it. I am not talking about the braid to leader knot which is a back to back uni knot for me. Apparently the co-polymer does not have the shock resistance in short lengths the same length leader of straight mono has. I was using Sufix Advance 20 lb (.018 avg dia) co-polymer as a short leader under 3' long with 50lb braid shinner fishing using a single hook tied with a palomar knot. After the first break off I figured it was a bad knot but it happened again & then a third time. I switched to Triline Big game in 15lb (.015 avg dia) & didn't have any problems after the switch. Note I have used Sufix Advance as a main line in 14lb, 17lb & 20 lb test lines in Mexico at Lake Baccarac & never had a break off catching bass up to 11.5 lbs. I just never considered using the same line as a short leader with braid would be a problem. After talking to several guides they had also experienced similar break offs using co-polymer lines as leader material with braid. I also never had a problem using Sufix Advance with 10lb braid and long leaders 12 to 20 foot long in 12-15lb test & treble hook baits where the hook set is much lighter in nature.
  8. Hope your over the hump & getting better.
  9. I use it in 10, 20 for spinning tackle & 40 & 50 for casting reels. I'm using 50lb on my frog rod & like it.
  10. Getting charged custom fees would be very rare unless your buying several at a time. I have never had any extra charges buying one or two at a time & think I have probably bought over 20 reels.
  11. Lake Baccarac bass fight much more aggressively than many other waters. So I truly agree with your assessment.
  12. I went from a 18’ boat to a 20’ and the difference in ride quality on rough water was a big deal. So if I were you I would go with the 21’ boat. It will require a twin axle trailer as opposed to a single.
  13. Won't be long and you might be taking that puppy with you
  14. Kinda like strolling a jerk bait. I like the point about keeping the bait in the water. Much more efficient than casting. The point about matching the drifting speed to the bites is also right on. Good article to help you expand your fishing arsenal.
  15. Yes this has the potential to really change a lot of previous parameters. Including records.

  17. I grew up with it's better to buy quality because you get what you pay for. But you have to consider your own financial limits. Right know the Japan yen to the dollar disparity favors JDM purchases for Daiwa & Shimano reels. I prefer Daiwa spinning reels over Shimano favoring the Certates. Bait casting reels the JDM Scorpion (USDM curado) is a winner at the low/med price range. The Bantam & Metanium at the med/high price range. I have always enjoyed St Croix avids & the legend series & the original Loomis IMX series especially the MBR line. The IMX+ series in the G.Loomis line & the top end NRX+ are industry standards. I also have several Kistler rods favoring the KLX, Heliums & Z Bones. Top of the line for me are the Edge LMX , EFX Pro & Epitome lines. If you get on the email list for both Edge & Kistler rods there are substantial sales & discounts available.
  18. Happy Birthday Mr big bass. We have enjoyed your experiences & knowledge shared while you chased your big bass dream.
  19. Gotta love those terriers.
  20. Welcome to BR.
  21. Extra jaw spreader & pliers. A boga grip or lip gripper to aid in getting hooks out. Consider breaking/snapping the hook barbs off with a pair of pliers. It's best to tie a string or heavy line to the jaw spreaders & to the boat so you don't lose them in the heat of the moment. Have a good trip. That is a great area to fish.
  22. Confirmed but pending official release. The angler that caught it said he weighed it on a certified scale & they were going to re-certify the scale.
  23. When I posted it was working. But now it gives a message the link might be broken or the page removed. It was posted on Facebook & Instagram. Try searching on Facebook & it comes up as a reel & several other posts.
  24. 12.35 lbs caught from Cayuga Lake pending New York state record largemouth. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=507840905144236&set=a.164145632847100
