anyone fish around johnstown, pa or allegheny county, md??
yeah i know what you mean, i have like 20 tournys this year. It's hard to fit everything in the schedule. It would be alot easier if PA wasn't gay, you can't even fish tournaments for bass until june 22nd

Off limit area in a tournament
here in pa we have no wake zones. the closest to a speed limit we have had is one day when it was foggy the tournament director said we couldnt go faster than 45. so basically after we launched you couldn't pass anybody or you were disqualified. that was at raystown lol

i dont see any problems with that tin. Idk why there would be a 45 mph speed limit anyway? WTRDOG is there a reason that theres a speed limit like that?

You could, but I still can't sign my name in cursive . I woulda never brought that up but i'm tired of people telling me stuff like that. I just got the guys that I fish tournaments with to start listening to me lol. Granted that post probably looks alot like bragging, but in my mind its evidence : lmao

Vanish Trainsition Gold?
Dont yell at me but i love berkley vanish... I use the 8 lb test for my smaller jerkbaits, shakeyhead worms, and wacky worms. I do like clear the best though it handles the best. And I would never use over 8 lb test either, it does get slinky like if your not using it for a faster moving bait. I used 14 lb test in saltwater however and caught some nice jack and a redfish on it. I just dont like it for bass fishing

Raystown Lake
And last year when Ike was there, the fishing was bad. It was the middle of summer and even the locals said it was the worst fishing they've seen in years. You just couldn't find any fish. I was there either the week before or the week after Ike was there, i remember somebody mentioning it to me at the launch ramp, and i caught one keeper that day. It was an anorexic smallie that probably woulda went 3 lbs if it was full bodied. I was so frustrated i was trying a jig in 50-60 ft of water of the ledges on the upper part of the lake, to my dismay there were no takers.

Raystown Lake
no no i say lol all the time. I always take things in GOOD SPIRIT, like thats alright you'll get em next time. And for raystown, everyone has had days like that there. I even had one there last year i didnt catch any keepers at all, it was a prefish day in the middle of summer too. I didn't mean for you to take any offense to what I said, I'm sorry. I just like to laugh ;D

Who here fishes from the bank?
I don't do any of that. The fish don't care what you look like. : Hey RW whatever works for you These things have served me well at some of the small farm ponds I fish.Maybe they make a difference maybe they don't,just tryin to offer up some help 8-) I don't use senko's or shimano reels and I still manage to cath a few bass : Naw you don't need to be stealthy, just make sure the bass will want to look at you. You could try wearing a nice polo shirt or a nice suit, you know draw the attention away from your fishing rod. A bass fishing shirt just lets them know your fishing for them. If you want to get real radical go to a local dept. store and buy a nice dress, maybe they'll think your an innocent teenage girl stopping by the lake after prom. (I've never tried this personally its only in theory) But thats real camoflage, the fish won't even think you're fishing p.s. this wasn't to be taken serious by anybody. If I see anybody fishing in a dress I'm going to take a picture and post it on the forum

YAHOO....I got me a bass boat
if its the 180 super pro I'm proud to say that you will love it!!! ;D I have a 94 180 superpro and its just unbelievable on the water. The ride is tremendous and they just look good too! Mines silver with giant fleck with red and black stripes and boy does it shine after a nice coat of wax! Mines got a 150 mariner and it goes decent around 55 mph. But the great thing is that its not all front deck like most boats these days, the rider has plenty of room to move around too. The tackle storage isnt great either but it just keeps you from puttin too many lures in your boat any way :

great pics!!! and its great you got a family into fishing too!!! my girlfriend goes and watches and my dad only goes when he has to lol. I'm getting my 6 yr old brother into it and he loves it. He caught a 4 lber last summer!!! lol it was on a dropshot rig under a bobber and he had to sit down in the fightin chair (aka a milk crate) to reel it in. The best times on the water are always with family

Raystown Lake
lol I'm no local and I'm not trying to put you down in anyway. From my experience thats what the lake does this time of year. I fished it the past couple years in early april and last year at one point we had an inch of snow on the boat. All the guys that brought in a limit last year caught them fishing jerkbaits on ledges and points. and btw I DID beat alot of guys with more than twice as much experience as me last year at the PA Bass state classic on that lake. I was the only person under 40 to make it to divisonal teams and I am the youngest person from PA to EVER make it to divisonal teams..... Thanks for making me feel like an *******

Raystown Lake
lol then you werent fishing with a jerkbait and you weren't fishing points and or ledges. All the smallmouth there right now are schooled up on ledges, all similar sized fish in a school. And the largemouth should be off points. Yeah i've fished it quite a bit in the past few years and every year I fish it the bites are getting harder and harder to come by. There are alot of big bass in that lake however, my average fish now is almost 3 lbs. now i would fish jerkbaits and shakey head worms on ledges (last year this week I caught my PB smallie there). In the summer fish weeds with a with spinnerbait when its sunny, and when its cloudy fish a frog over the weeds and sometimes pitch tubes into the weeds. Thats a largemouth pattern. For smallies just keep going with a jerkbait down ledges until you hit a school purple back and pearl sides are the best color for raystown. And thats about all i got for you, if you need to finish out a limit go to a ledge near the dam and fish a tube jig or dropshot along those ledges, that usually produces a quick bunch of 12-13 inch smallies
