  1. Do they know this is the AFC Championship game or what? I cannot believe they're down 21-3 halfway thru the 2nd quarter. Unreal. COLTS------->
  2. I prefer a billed bait for deep cranking. I feel I have much more control with a billed crank. Plus when I hit something to deflect the bait and stop reeling, the bait deflects and floats up away from obstructions whereas a trap would sink back into the obstruction. You have the right idea with the trap staying down but you have to think about what type structure and cover you are fishing and what you want the bait to do. If you fish deep grass, then the trap may be the way to go, but no deep grass = no traps for me. I guess you could try a floating trap....(do they still make those?) I dont fish any grass so my opinion may be one-sided but I feel like the trap would stay hung in cover or on the bottom too much to be more effective than a traditional deep billed crank.
  3. ROFLMAO! That was right on time Russ!! Thats still one of the slickest lookin' jons I've ever seen!
  4. Stockers bite all day long. Natives around here bite better in lower light conditions...they're real spooky.
  5. No. RW asked "Why are fast boats such an important advantage in tournament fishing?" Thread was going good, then the conversation took a left turn and went into someone getting stuck and then he got a different boat when he shouldnt have and on and on about tournament rules and switching boats.
  6. I've got 2 Magnesiums and 4 Heliums. Seems to me that the Heliums are more true to the power ratings. The Magnesium MH feels like a M,the H feels like a MH etc. Both are extremely lightweight and extra sensitive. The Mags I have left I can deal with and will keep,I had to sell Mag H Flippin rod because the tip was too soft. Other than the appearance (blank color, grips, guides) and the Magnesiums being a little soft tipped, the way each one fishes and the weight isnt much different in my opinion.
  7. ****MODERATOR NOTE**** Fellas, lets try to get back on topic here. Thanks for your support. Carry on. fivebasslimit Global Moderator
  8. Fiberglass-medium-at least 6' for small cranks,up to 6'6" for crankin' to 10' and 7' or longer for the big boys.
  9. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Not laughing at you, laughing with you! That story brings back memories,no kidding......my first boat was a 16 ft fiberglass deep side flat bottom and to this day,I havent ever seen one like it. It was affectionately called "the green bean".....first time launching it and fishing it went pretty much the same way. After being ticked off and frustrated for a few hours,we got big laughs talking about it later! It will get better man, trust me. Practice, practice, practice. Then practice some more.
  10. I fish deep cranks ALOT. The 4 I have on hand at all times are: DD22 DT16 LC CBD-20 Mann's 20+ .....and an honorable mention goes to the Bandit 400's
  11. The Colts definitely have a better shot this year being at home and they have Vinatieri kicking. The Patriots were handed the San Diego game on a silver platter and Brady didnt have the typical Brady game.....but they won. I think the Colts are playing better ball now since the defense decided to wake up and join in. I am pulling for the Colts 100%....because I'm tired of looking at/hearing about the Patriots and Peyton needs to get the monkey off his back. He's too good of a QB to not get that Super Bowl ring.
  12. No,its not me and I knew it wasnt RW. I just thought the dude looked a helluva lot like RW. From website pics I have seen of RW,the dude in the catalog could pass as his kin.....or RW grew a beard for the cold winter months. KU- 2007 Master catalog

Have any of you ever tried a keeper like the ones on the Kistler rods? They are by far my favorite.....and Alpster, whenever I get you to do me a rod,I'll need one of those Kistler keepers on it!
  15. So, saying you found a honey hole would be a good assumption? ;D Just think man, there is only a very small % of bass fisherman that will EVER have a day like that.
  16. ;D .....we all would !!
