Its really all in the eye. The lock eye is easily changed with different weights and uses a compression fit on the line. These can fall off or be pulled off if not secured good or get pulled on pretty hard. The round eye can be used for rigging like posted above or can be tied to or a clip used so the weight is fixed to the line for a normal dropshot.

We have just released our newest product. Tungsten Dropshot weights with a loop for direct tie or use of clips. This will keep you from losing weights that slide off the line or get pulled off for some reason. The weights are also black oxide finished that do not chip. If you go lithium get a lithium with a BMS(Battery Management System. You can Bluetooth to it. It will show you exactly what the batteries have. I'm not close to my batteries but this is what it looks like. Also, The lithium will last a lot longer than any of your other batteries before you would hit that point your talking about. I run 3 50amp Ionics and a ghost. I have only got them down to 77%. That was on a longer day with a lot of trolling into the wind. If you got 3 100ah Ionics I dont know if you could wear them out unless your fishing a river or hold the pedal down on high for most of the day. You can also calculate the run time if you know the AH that motor runs at and the speed you normally run.

My guess would be need to fish deeper structure on points or drop offs from the 10-15 FOW mark.

There are a lot of options here. The ones said above or a deep diving crankbait. With smallies you may even want to try a deep diving jerkbait. Being this time of year that jerkbait would be fished faster then the winter. Typically.

The one I booked in the Gulf last year was nothing like that. I'm sure all of them are different but that is really shady. I would look elsewhere.

Is there any paint in the eyelet keeping it from moving or binding? Thats the only thing I can think it could be.

Call your dealer or boat manufacturer and get the recommended Prop to Pad. Since you have a hydrolic jack plate you can go from there in messing with the trim of the motor up and down for optimum performance. NOTE: You must watch your water pressure and make sure you have plenty of water pressure for the motor. Do not lift the motor to high.

Thats the same as I've been using. This year I did switch to Mercury brand but never had an issue with star tron. Good stuff.

We have Cottonmouths & Copperheads mostly. They say we have timber rattlers but I've never seen one. On the nonvenomous side we have a ton of different ones.

Hello SWVABASS, The Fogy is built off of a football head. This gives the bait a lot of action. The blade is also flat so it runs a little more shallow. The Tremor is more like an arky style head with eyes. The Tremor also has a slightly longer hook and a blade that is curved at the top. The action is a little different and the bait runs a little deeper. Next week I will have the Fogy Pro coming out that will have the bend on the blade. For a trailer I typically throw a paddle tail swim bait.
