What are you using for fuel treatment? I have a 2021 70 HP Yamaha and used

Last season. Didn't really have issues, but was wondering if I should be using something else?

Thats the same as I've been using.  This year I did switch to Mercury brand but never had an issue with star tron.  Good stuff.

Ethanol free fuel with no stabilizer for me. End of the season I dump the remainder in my vehicles and start fresh every year.

I’m a Mercury guy.  I used Quick Kleen for 14 trouble free years in my Optimax.  I have a Verado 4 stroke and still use Quick Kleen along with Quick Care.  It has been trouble free for 6 years.

The cost isn’t much compared to a new power head.

Startron was recommended by my outboard mechanic about 6 years ago and I’ve had great results and performance with it.love the stuff!

I am old guy. I usea engine cleaning additive. Cars, boats..  Seafoam   It does remove varnish & carbon in all engines. About 1 time each month. Bottle into the gas tank at fill up. My mileage jumps up about 25% .

Stabil 360 during the season, then Stabil Red for the winter if I know there's some left.

I have a 2016 Merc 115.  Always used Mercury Quickare religiously.  Last year I ran out and, since I can't buy the Mercury stuff in a store and I have to order it, I got lazy and bought Startron at a local store.  Ran it half of last year, filled the tank in November with my usual gas, put in Startron and put it in my heated shop for the winter.  First time out in the spring it was running rough.  Second time out it was rougher.  Third time out I was halfway through the tank of gas and it was barely running.  I had to putt-putt back to the marina.  I filled the empty half of the tank with ethanol-free 87 octane and dumped a can of Seafoam Marine in it.  I started doing laps in the lake basin.  About 20 laps in it was smoothing out considerably.  By the end of the day it was running great.  I just ordered five cans of Seafoam Marine.  That was all the evidence I needed.  One ruined fishing day changed fixed my lazy, cheap attitude.

It’s going to be hard to find with President forcing 15% ethanol to used in every state...?

I run ethanol free and still use Startron just to make sure I keep my motor running smooth

(With a 4 stroke) There's no need for the snake oil if you're not letting the fuel sit in the tank for long.  At the end of the season, or anytime it's going to sit for more than a couple weeks I'd recommend filling the tank (to limit the air space) and put sta-bil or some other kind of stabilizer in it.   The 10% ethanol isn't usually a problem as long as the engine/fuel system is modern enough to accept it.  15% is going to be a problem, not just for boats, but for many automobiles and trucks.

Ethanol and other additives (that are already in pump gas) caused all kind of problems for 2 strokes early on.  (and possible still does)  Back before I sold my old boat (2 stroke, in 1992) I only used Amoco 93 octane, which was (and may still be) ethanol free.

Disclaimer, I'm not a boat technician/mechanic.  I'm an auto tech.

Ethanol free and sea foam.

don’t need marine sea foam if you use ethanol free.

Can you explain?   The only thing I’ve seen in the news concerning E15 is that the President has suspended the federal ban on the sell of E15 during the summer months to reduce fuel prices.   Normally,  only E10 can be sold from June 1st through September 15th.  This year E15 can be sold during the summer but it is not required.

Biden made this announcement while visiting Indiana in reference to the gasoline price increase that 15% ethanol is the answer to the current problem. Biden is requiring ethanol production to increase and removing E15 restriction nationwide.

We all know it’s bluster and not logical and will only increase gasoline prices along with damaging some engines.

When a president make policy industries must follow or file lawsuits.

The problem is you can’t determine if ethanol is supplied to a gas station as the pump only states “may have ethanol content”. Premium grades usually are ethanol free, not always. E85 is the grade to be aware of.

Pump labeling requirements vary by state.   In some states retailers are not required to label gas that contains ethanol.  Here in Tennessee it must be labeled if it has more than 1.5% ethanol.   We are fortunate here to have plenty of stations that sell ethanol free gas.  My boat has never tasted ethanol.  The closest station to my house only sells ethanol free gas.  If you can currently buy ethanol free gas there is no reason to think it will not be available after June 1st.

Many other countries do not BURN corn crops in gasoline powered vehicles. Why does the USA ?   Somebody has to pay off ALL the HUGE   Wall Street Ethanol Bonds that were sold to increase profits for corn farmers...........  Which crop would you raise ?  Eating corn ? Or much higher profit making Ethanol Corn ?
