What Trailer?
Tough to beat the Rage Craws action. That would be my first pick on any jig.

Dip dye colors
Gotta go with red. Too much you can do with it. Gills, eyes, stripes, etc. Use the Q-tip like JJ says and let your imagination go wild. Hey Big-O, who you calling old. I resemble that remark!

Shaky Head
Give the evolution shake2 head a try. I think you'll be pleased.

any topwater frog fishers out there
As soon as you start to see green weeds give them a shot. Use them anywhere you would throw a standard topwater and anywhere you wouldn't even think of throwing another type of bait into.

If you didn't go on the Roadtrip...
Hey Burley- What are you going to do with the 100 bottles of JJ's Magic you won in the raffle? Use it for aftershave?

New Megastrike formula?
Got to try the new megastrike on Kentucky Lake and it works! Caught some on a rage lizard but catch rate definitely went up after putting on Megastrike. Tube I had was not Garlicky at all, more like a shad smell. And by the way, garlic does work! Try JJ's Magic if you don't believe me.

Rage Tail baits - the next generation
Big O might shoot me but you guys deserve to know. The secret bait is called the Space Skunk. 4" long. Black with a white stripe down the back, 4 flapping legs and when you jig it, the tail wags up and emits a powerful scent. Caught the snot out of 'em but ran out. Big O didn't have any more samples. Thanks again Big O.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Wow. What a trip. Spent most of yesterday catching up on sleep. Fishing is work! Fighting those winds was excruciating. Great to finally meet you guys and match the faces to the names. What a great mix of guys. The veterans like Bud, Kelly and Big O were a wealth of knowledge. Big O- Thanks for the baits! They do work. JJ- You're stuff stinks! (Works too) The young guns like CJ and the rest- Thanks for the tips and help. Wish I could have spent more time picking your brains. Cooks- Outstanding. Speed- I need that Chicken recipe. Glenn- Thanks for putting this together. Well done. For two Chicago guys that don't get to fish this type of lake very often, Uncle Leo and I did pretty good. Big O's tip on Saturday led to two great days. I might have a claim for dink of the trip- 4" tops on a crank. Hope everyone had as good a time as we did and hope to see you all again!.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Maybe even a video of Tennessee volunteers walking to the Alamo instead of riding horses. Sorry - Couldn't resist! :D Man, I'm starting to have fun already!

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Don't let that stop you from coming. There will be enough of us Know It Alls there to help you out. In all my years of owning a boat I have never had a problem I couldn't figure out. Boats are relatively simple compared to cars, especially older ones. The manual would help but I believe it is one of 2 ways. Remove the cables from the motor and either screw in or unscrew the connectors. The is also adjustment at the shift control. What exactly is the problem you are having? Try calling direct. I have also gotten help that way. http://www.mercurymarine.com/utility/contact/index.php

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
I think everyone was just razzing you. By the way does Oklahoma get as nasty as Chicago in the winter. Had to get that in. I don't think I'd go that far if I thought the weather was going to s**k either. If the weather stinks, I'll just see the local sights. By the way, are there any? Being from up here, cold and rain are a fact of life. I can't stand heavy winds though.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
I talked to CJ and he said we could just hook a tow rope up to him and go where he goes. ;D ;D

skipin a lure
I would watch and i know I'm not alone, I saw Jimmy Houston demonstrate it pretty good on one of his shows but it was for getting spinnerbaits under overhanging trees. KVD was doing it and putting a small crankbait between two moored boats about 12" apart. Neither one actually addressed skipping under docks etc. I use spinning gear but learning with baitcasters would be a plus.

What if............
I'd bet on Harry and Charlie fishing out of Old Stump Jumper from Bassmaster mag. Anyone else miss them? Why was their column dropped? Maybe for another thread.

Where can I move?
If you like crappy winters, horrible traffic congestion, and crooked politics (oops, can't say that), come to Chicago. Southern Illinois is nice and has some great fishing. Missouri good also. My daughter just moved to Lubbock, Texas (Hi Brent) and loves it. Texas would be my choice. Like living in your own country. Florida would be next.

Tube Jigs
Hang a small tube under a float and make sure it lies horizontal by sliding the knot towards the back of the bait. Adjust depth to depth fish are at. Cast out and retrieve by pulling and stopping. This will cause bait to swing up then sink back down. Keep a close eye on the float. Outfished my partner last year on Kentucky Lake who was using a spider set-up from the front of the boat.

Fish brush piles planted by locals?
X2 CJ read my mind on this. Plant your own. Try to find the same type of area that the ones that are productive are on. No rule saying you can't fish a brushpile if you get there first though.

Bass Pro Shops XPS lures
Great baits. Colors, styles, hooks all top notch. Some guys give BPS stuff a bad rap but I like these. Can't beat the price!
-
Odor Control
Put bait(s) in a ziplock bag and hide outside closest Italian restaurant. No one will notice. I have same problem using Chompers Garlic scent. My wife asked if we were having pasta for dinner.

Jigs are where its at!
I thought I was the only one still using pork! Uncle Josh makes a slick jig that has a clip on the hook to secure the pork. Picked up a bunch of them in the clearance bin at my local tackle shop. Not sure if they are still made.
