While fishing Lake Minichuck in the Old Town Canoe yesterday with my wife, we were visited by a plus size pike. This one was longer than my rig is wide and super thick across the back; very healthy. Got some video and let her go. Been a while since we've seen fish of this quality on back to back trips. I don't hate it. A-Jay

After a day on the water yesterday, I was back in the home gym for Workout Day 5. Complete 3 working sets on the movements scheduled and finished each off with a drop set; which I often do but rarely show in the video. Showing it this time though. Virtually None. They play a Childs game for a living. My career required participating in real Life & Death deals almost on the daily. No question these men & women work hard to perfect their rare God Given athletic ability, but they are still playing a game, regardless of the press coverage and the misguided pedestal they get placed on. Their efforts often offer us a welcome distraction from the reality of our life's, however, there's usually very little there to emulate in my mind. Being able to pass, punt & throw is not an indicator of good character. Isn't it funny how "Being a Good Man or Woman" just doesn't mean that much any more. Unless one isn't. A-Jay

We've got a chipmunk family living in a hole in the front yard. Despite being quite young (and very small), Simon, Theodore and of course Alvin always stick together for support. A-Jay

The Crazy Good News continues ~ Lynn's been back out running the trails with Kya for a week now. I am in total disbelief, ecstatic, but still disbelief. From where she started when she was on a couple of rough roads, to where she is now, is just hard to describe. If you're ever wondered what drives me to stay in shape and get into the home gym every other day, she's pictured below. I'm 15 years older than my wife. Each and every one of us that chases these little green/brown fish has a special story about how we got started. Many of them have been shared in this forum: including mine. After catching my very first bass, to say I was pretty pumped would be a serious understatement. Of course I didn’t exactly know it at the time (or maybe I did) it was a life changing perhaps even defining moment. Either way, from that point on, bass fishing consumed me. It was all I could think about and I could not wait to do it again. 5 decades later, most of that is the same, except for one deal. I have become semi-obsessed with Big Bass. Both locally & abroad. And if I'm very lucky, every once in a while, I catch one. It Always totally rejuvenates my fishing fever to a most wonderful level. At some point, I expect to be living completely on past accomplishments and reminiscing about The Good Old Days. But don't feel like I'm there just yet, so I keep casting. The latest log went on the fire last just over a month ago. A brown bass over 7 lbs will do that. Every Time. Fish Hard A-Jay

You can do whatever you want. Including using no trailer. Josh Jones special. I my world, a properly rigged swim jig has a certain 'waggle' to it as it swims and as it falls; on a tight or slack line. Line size and type, lure speed And trailer size, as well as type ALL PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE. Getting this right, for me anyway, takes some trial and error. I fish swimjigs often, because they get bites, but I’m not always using a paddletail trailer. A-Jay

I am also a big believer in this. I go as far as trying to Almost match my bait color of the bottom or cover I am fishing it in. The bass know it's there. It's their world. A-Jay
