Bass fishing in Mexico on your own.
Not an expert by any means however the areas of Mexico I've visited, the western edge of the beautiful Sierra Madre Mountains, has quite a bit of forest land. Either way, while the scenery is especially spectacular, so is the big bass fishing. #likeapostcard A-Jay

How often do you still use an anchor?
When it comes to my Bass rig set up with the twin Talons & trolling motor, an actual anchor becomes more like emergency equipment than something that gets routine use. IMO, there's still definitely a need for it. Part of my gear purchased at the same time as my rig (2016) included a small box anchor (made by slideanchor.com) and 150 ft of 3/8" DOUBLE BRAID NYLON ANCHOR LINE. I've deployed it once, during my first or second shake down cruise. Needed to ensure it would hold when needed. It certainly does. Stowed it under my bench seat, ready to go. Fortunately I haven't needed it. Sort of hope I never do. Because if I'm breaking that thing out, something bad already happened. Stay Safe. A-Jay

This hit me hard today
Some states have laws on the books that require the operator of a vehicle that collides with a domestic dog to stop. As for other drivers not stopping, not everyone has a first responder mentality. Besides not having ANY training in any aspect of what's happening here, what could they do ? What were you going to do ? Then there's the clear & present danger of just being out of your vehicle on the side of a busy roadway. Crazies run over and KILL police & emergency workers (who have wild flashing lights going) all the time. Some folks might not want to assume the risk, other might not even see the unfortunate animal on the road in the first place. A call to authorities/animal control, is often the best course of action, along with keeping dogs on leashes when not in our home. Stay Safe. A-Jay

Bass caught while musky fishing
I rarely 'target' musky, but the handful of times I have, there were no bass caught. However, I have had a few musky take swipes at my baits while bass fishing. Sometimes they end up being long distance releases and other times not so much. A-Jay

Our humanness does some amazing things while we sleep. It's almost like magic The benefits of adequate sleep can not be overstate, especially as we age. Sleep and mental health are closely related. In many ways, both impact each other. Not getting enough sleep can lead to mental health issues like depression and anxiety, while mental health conditions can, in turn, lower your sleep quality. A good night’s sleep is crucial for your mental well-being. 2. Quality sleep lowers your risk of diseases. Lack of sleep increases your risk of serious health conditions like high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity. Contrary to popular belief, our brains don’t slow down while we’re sleeping. Thanks ~ As for the wind/waves here. My wife calls it "The Window". Most days 'it opens' pretty close to 10:30 am. This particular morning it was cracked a little earlier than that. If there's any wind at my house, usually means the lakes are borderline or unfishable. A-Jay

Workout number 120 for this year was Total Body Day 3. Stayed strict through the entire range of motion this morning. My Personal trainer (wife Lynn) and harshest critic, informed me that I was getting a little Sloppy Poppy. Can't have that. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
