  1. The Megabass Pop Max and the Yellow Magic Japanese Popper are my main players when it comes to poppers; both 1/2 oz. And I'm that weird guy who throws them on spinning gear. Casting distance is never a concern however. https://youtu.be/6Ds4Z22ywnY?t=121 A-Jay
  2. While the higher prices might not affect my fishing directly, they will and have required spending modifications in other areas to account for the extra gas $$ needed for the boat & the tow vehicle. Retirement pay for an enlisted man only goes so far. Either way, I can always make a few trips in Old Town canoe, which requires minimal $$. A-Jay
  3. I had the same deal with the original Optimax motor. Not the motors fault, there just wasn't sufficient clearance for the transducer to get a clear unobstructed view. Dealt with it for a couple of years. Only way to 'fix' it was to trim the motor way up and go slow. Once I repowered to the ProXS I added a 6 inch manual Jack plate mostly to get the OB the heck out of the way. Worked like a champ. Talked about here ~ https://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/205586-re-powering-the-lund-1875-pro-v-bass-boat/?do=findComment&comment=2346507 A-Jay
  4. The GameChanger Lures Eeliminator (used to be a Ragetail bait) Makes a decent pollywog imitator. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-GAMECHLR.html?from=basres A-Jay
  5. Same here ~ But it's coming . . . A-Jay
  6. According to the Michigan DNR, there are 18 different species of snakes in the state with only one being venomous. The eastern Masssasauga is the ONLY venomous snake species living in Michigan and is a very uncommon snake. Massasaugas are one of the smaller rattlesnake species here in the United States, only growing to about three feet at the largest. It is usually gray or tan and covered with dark splotches over most of its body. The Michigan DNR describes them as being similar in shape to a bow tie or video game controller. And of course, it has a distinctive rattle at the end of its tail which should be a dead giveaway. While this species is venomous, odds of being bitten are quite rare. They try to shy away from humans as much as possible and are a threatened species in Michigan mostly due to habitat loss. As a result, they fall under a number of protections. The species is seen so little that Michigan DNR encourages the public to report all sightings of this snake immediately. As for the other 17 Michigan snakes, they are all most good to have around. Eating & help controlling quite a bit of the Varmint Kong that might otherwise do damage if left unchecked. A-Jay
  7. Are we talking about the Pro Team 190TX with 115 4 stroke Mercury ? Also does your rig run on plane at 3000 ? If it doesn't, why would you run it at that rpm ? A-Jay
  8. Cool ~ Looking forward to the pics. Congrats What color did you go with ? A-Jay
  9. I don't do rust ~ on anything. Rapid Hitch with the locking pins is the way to go. A-Jay
  10. This would not make it a good candidate for 'line of choice'. So no. A-Jay
  11. Have to imagine the fishes swim bladder at the time of the deal plays some type of role here. Swim (or air) bladder This hollow, gas-filled balance organ allows a fish to conserve energy by maintaining neutral buoyancy (suspending) in water. Fish caught from very deep water sometimes need to have air released from their swim bladder before they can be released and return to deep water, because of the difference in atmospheric pressure at the water's surface. Species of fish that do not possess a swim bladder sink to the bottom if they stop swimming. A-Jay

  13. I hear ya ~ And I knew you knew that too. You know how it goes, two days after you buy the long shaft, a short shaft will fall right into your lap ! Good Luck Ken. A-Jay
  14. Don't Know ~ What I do know, is that you have put a ton of time & effort into this rig, and done quite a bit of painstaking, super high quality work. Perhaps consider getting exactly what the deal calls for. You haven't settled anywhere else. This might not be the item to start that on. #F-9 A-Jay
  15. Good to hear~ I am still very deep in the 'Hammered D** S***' zone, so it's going to be a while for me. I'll get there eventually. A-Jay
  16. Perhaps consider doing whatever it takes to be the first one on the water. Then other anglers will be asking this question instead of you. Fish Hard A-Jay
  17. About time we hear from the record holder @Team9nine A-Jay
  18. I would not purchase a jacked ripped up bait, so I won't fish one either. Once a rigged bait, swim bait or any trailer, no longer fishes like it did when it first went on, it gets replaced. A-Jay
  19. Hope you are better soon. A-Jay
  20. @Fishin Dad The dealers set up makes sense sort of - Use a smaller screw and turn the motor 'down' so as not to over rev it. If they are going to upgrade the prop to a 21 they WILL NEED to open that motor up. Leaving it as is with the 21 prop you'll get even less rpms and of course speed. Recommend making them run it to get it right before you get it back. A-Jay
  21. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  22. So is it good luck to blow on that one before the cast ? Asking for a friend. A-Jay
  23. The OP on this moldy thread has been MIA for 4 years. A-Jay
  24. Stitched up incision is healing nicely. And while I appreciate the epidermal repair, I am not a big fan of the nasty cold/flu I managed to contract. Apparently my facial covering was insufficient. I haven't been 'sick' for a couple of decades. Hope once this mess clears up I can go a couple more. #snotface A-Jay
