  1. anyone else see these on iCast, they sound awesome
  2. i own wacky hooks, but i never use them. I have a senko rod and i always have a 4/0 gammy ewg hook on for texas rigging, and when i wanna go to wacky rigging i just remove the senko from being texas rigged and stick the hook through the middle making it wacky. works just fine, never had any issues with it.
  3. i have read that people don't like these because they only clip on to the bottom jaw of the fish instead of going through the fish. As a result they can come off if you aren't careful when taking the fish out of the live well. but this also means the product is better for the fishes health. i have heard the ardent smart cull is the best system out there... http://www.***.com/descpageARDACC-ARSMC.html
  4. congrats, i'm banking on a little luck as well, trying to get my first boat. Looks great though!
  5. i would still do your practice, like others have said clip your hooks, or you can usually shake a fish off. But get your confidence up by prefishing the areas and making sure the fish are there. confidence is huge when fishing so anything you can do to boost that is a good thing. Best of luck!
  6. I have a tournament this weekend on Cayuga Lake, has anyone been out on this lake this year? How was it? I'm going as a non-boater, does anyone have any general suggestions for baits techniques or anything. Thanks!
  7. i have fished both and had more strikes on the popper... i dont mean to steal this thread, but does anyone have any tips that might help me learn to skip like dean does in his video.
  8. The only one I have used is the cover craw, and i absolutely love it. The sliding backwards action it has when rigged weightless is something i've never seen before and it drives the bass crazy
  9. I have been using braid for a few seasons now, and it wasn't until my last outing I had a problem. I had a snagproof frog on and I casted it out and my line snapped, I look and there wasn't a backlash. but what had happened was my braid had like dug down into the layers below it and it seems this is a problem throughout the whole spool. is any one else having issues with their braid digging into its self? what can i do? Or is replacing the line inevitable?
  10. looking to get one, any suggestions. I am looking for the lowest cost for the best system. Or would i be better off making my own, and if so does anyone have directions on making on?
  11. i'm cleaning out my tackle bag and im finding tons of ripped plastics, mostly senkos. its a shame and seems like a waste to just throw them out. is there something i can do with them from here on out, or are they trash can bound?
  12. which would i be better off getting, using it as an all around spinning reel?
  13. Chris W, How would you compare the sink rate and action of these baits to the GYCB Senko?
  14. what is the best size spinning reel to be used for drop shotting, going to be using 6-8 lb test. Thanks!
  15. nice fish, but beautiful place to do some fishing!
  16. Is the extra money put to good use buying a pflueger supreme or should i just get the president and and use the extra money on something else?
  17. i love the jitterbug! its just so fun to fish, takes absolutely no skill and its just amazing when you get a strike... I fished on a bay and had success in the morning fishing it and then pausing it over weed beds, anywhere a topwater can be fished, a jitterbug can be worked.
  18. pflueger makes quality spinning reels, you can get the president or supreme in that price range. These are the upper level reels and are very well crafted.
  19. never used them, but i've used the elaztech baits that come with chatterbiats, if you use a hook that can poke through them to give your self a starter hole, maybe that will help. again, just an idea. good luck!
  20. hahaha, i love how evenly things are split, best advice i can give is go to the store while you opinion is still unbiased and see how both of them feel to you, they are both quality reels, but it all depends on which one feels best to you. good luck!
  21. saw these senko style baits made out of the super tough elaztech plastic, has anyone used these, how is there action? Do they really last so much longer? http://www.***.com/descpageSFTSTRIKE-SKXZ.html#pImage
  22. I used only 30# braid last year, and fished only clear water. I did most of my fishing in a pond. And when the bass were spawning they would come up to about 3 feet of water that was crystal clear. I fished a tube or senko on braided line 100% of the time and caught many fish. i dont know if the bass could see it or not, or if they even cared, the only thing i know is that i caught fish... would I have more success using a leader or straight fluoro, i cant say. But i caught fish and that is that fact of the matter.
  23. Haven't caught any fish on the spro popper yet, but I did try it out, now having used both the scum and spro popper, the spro's action is much better, due to the longer body of the spro it is so much easier to walk, there is a greater range of actions you can work the spro with. the scum frog has good action, but get a spro and you will notice a huge difference.
