  1. had this problem in a pond near my house and it was the most frustrating thing, finally i figured out something that brough some success. you gotta annoy the fish enough so they strike out of anger. I texas rigged a tube with a 1/4 ounce bullet weight. just cast it out past the fish bounce it off the bottom until its infron of its face, stop the retrieve and shake , if he doesn't take it, reel in and do it again. It may take a decent amount of casts to have success, and sometimes you just cannot get them to bite. good luck!
  2. I put most your money toward the rod, you can get an excellent spinning reel in the 50-70 dollar range, for instance, the pflueger president. good choices for the rod could be: Kistler Magnesium, E21 carrot stick, Shimano Crucial or even the Johnny Morris signature series, just see what feels the best for you. Good luck.
  3. any where from 4-6, if I had my own boat i would defiantly have more. 4 baitcast; Flipping, Soft Plastic, topwater/spinner biat, and crank bait. 2 spinning; dropshot/shaky, and one for lighter weightless tackle. I'll carry a combination of those on an outing
  4. I was watching hook and look and learned some every helpful hints to rig them. First, before you put the point through the back of the bait, put a treble hook on as a trailer hook, the slip a small piece of surgical tubing like you would with a spinner bait trailer. Secondly, take a toothpick and shove it through the head of the swim bait vertically so that it goes through the eye of the hook and both sides the bait to keep it in place. Then trim both ends of the tooth pic: VERY CRUDE DRAWING:
  5. Are you looking to buy one of these reels? The silver Max was the first reel i used and I absolutely love that thing, i strongly recommend it to anyone who is curious about it.
  6. It's a tight race between joining my fist bass club so I could fish tournaments and switching over to baitcasters ;D
  7. IMO, it makes a good sunfish imitator as long as the water isn't crystal clear.
  8. Occasionally, I like to bring back my inner child and fish for panfish like blue gill, perch, bull head etc..
  9. just want to see what everyone's opinions are...
  10. putting a 10" power worm on the back give the bait great action, great for weed lines.
  11. The jig head can also be used with senko style baits, same basic concept, if you want the fall rate of your senko to increase.
  12. have you guys noticed it helping with getting hung up?
  13. X2 on the same exact set up

Strike King Coffee Tubes... Good Color selection and great action. Can't say the scent does anything, it most likely doesn't, but used them all of last season and caught the majority of my bass on them. good luck!
  15. x2 Really helps to keep it off the bottom, good luck!
  16. Has anyone used hooks like this or something similar: http://www.***.com/descpageGAMAKATSUDS-GOHOP.html if so have you had any issues with setting the hook, i know the description says it it wont effect it, but i'd rather hear it from those who have had experience with it. thanks!
  17. 30lb Spiderwire Stealth for me. Have had success with it with pretty much every technique, on both BC and spinning gear.
  18. There is the whole line of soft tube bellied swimbaits ( Shadalicious, BassMagic, Basstrix, Money Minnow, etc..) which I have had success with. There is also Spro BBz-1 i believe, trutungsten swimshad, and strike king king shad. Those are some more light effective and cheaper swimbaits. Good Luck!
  19. just saw this on *** this morning, looks like an awesome swimbait at a reasonable price... evil bait monkey
  20. Finished with the survey. Enjoyed doing it, good luck!
  21. Haven't used a sammy, But have had much success and love the action of the spook. Due to the price and success rate i will stick with spooks until they stop working, then maybe just maybe ill consider spending the extra money for a sammy.
  22. xraps sure set, jointed shad raps
  23. What do you mean by this, i've never heard of it?
  24. I love the subwart, I throw this bad boy in shallow warmer water around the same time of day id throw a topwater. its best when the weeds are just low enough so that you dont get snagged.
  25. I had the same problem, I would get soo over excited when i saw a fish hit my lure and set the hook right away. I then learned to be patient and have been doing better ever since, like everyone is saying, wait till you feel the fish on the line then set the hook
