  1. for sensitivity, braid cannot be matched, very smooth for flipping and/or pitching, defiantly worth a shot. Good luck
  2. Do any of you use the ewg hook with success when wacky rigging?
  3. Hot sauce is designed specifically for the Quantum PT bearings so you probably dont want to use that on a STX
  4. i just got mine off *** on liquidation and i'm really excited to try it, glad to hear someone loves the max series... cant wait!
  5. I personally have not used them, but i've seen quite a few threads on them and its a good deal so just letting it be known.
  6. Just a heads up for any one wanting to buy a strike kings sexy swimmer, they are on sale at tacklewarehosue for 10.49
  7. big, what are you looking to use the rod for? and dink, do you have any of the spinning series powell maxes, i just ordered a 6' MH, ever use a rod like this?
  8. x2... but whatever you get just try them all out in the store and make sure it fits well with you
  9. you should never think youre crazy if you don't like a bait or if it isnt working for you, every person has their own set of likes and dislikes. If its not for you its not for you, there are plenty of other options, if the torpedo and devil's horse are working for you then just stick with those.
  10. it really depends, most of the time no when it matters, or im with friends, sometimes when im by my self and go fishing as a stress reviler i will. but the sound of nature is a lot more effective However before a tournament i can see my self doing it to get myself in the zone lol
  11. Nothing like a deal from a seller who is certain what they are selling lol. Nice find!
  12. Everyone is talking about lower profile flipping baits to penetrate the jungle... what are some examples of these baits?
  13. supposedly braid can effect the action of a top water bait, but without knowing this last year i used it and had success with it. maybe i would have done better with mono. But yes you can definitely use a mono leader. here is a line guide that was very helpful to me: http://www.another site/articles/fishing-line-guide/

I do not use an o-ring thing, but if you buy a bic wide body pen and just take the guts out of it so its just the shell it will do the same thing for you and it will only cost you a dollar and a few pennies from staples
  15. thank you very much for the help! This is why i love this forum site!
  16. that's exactly what i wanted to hear, thanks for your help. how is the backbone?
  17. does the tip have flex or give or is it stiff with the use of soft plastics?
  18. when is this new bait going to be released? sounds awesome!
  19. I bought a tool for ice fishing jigs because many of those come with painted over eyes, the tool was somewhere around $.99 from wallyworld and works wonders, imo its a lot easier than using a point of a hook, but everyone is different and what works for me i'm sure isnt the optimal solution, just giving you another option.
  20. I'm looking at the powell max spinning rods, has any one use either the: 6' Med XF 603MEF or the 6' Med Hvy EF. What are your opinions on these, how much more stiff is the med hvy than the hvy? Would the med hvy be too stiff to throw weightless plastics on. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks! http://www.***.com/descpageRDSPOWELL-PMS.html
  21. you CAN rig them anyway you want, drop shot, t-rig, c-rig, shakey head, with a jig head, etc... the two ways i do the majority of my tube fishing is texas rigged and rigged on a jig head. For the texas rig, i use a bullet weight with the actual weight dependent on the depth i am fishing and the fall rate i want. I like this way best because you can make it weedless.
  22. Strike King coffee tubes, robo worms, slug-os, senkos... these all are good in the green pumpkin, watermelon, black and blue colors.
  23. I love the stealth braid, I think its at least worth a try on one of your setups, i would just keep it away from the crankbait rod
  24. it depends what water clarity you are fishing in, in clear situations the natural colors work wonders( greenpumpkins, and watermelons). For stained water you might want to try the brighter colors just my opinion.
  25. If any of you have used the 6" pvc pipe, how many rods can you fit in there?
