  1. Is anyone looking for a fishing partner tomorrow? All my fishing buddies are busy tomorrow. May be free Sunday as well. Waiting to hear back from Deak.
  2. Welcome! I also don't own a boat so I do plenty of shore fishing. Luckily I have friends that have boats. Met one on here in this forum.
  3. I love mine as well. Great reel.
  4. Try it all. Keep an eye out for them hitting bugs top water.
  5. No. I never use worms or any bait when fresh water fishing. Salt water is another story. I would think if you put anything on an inline spinner, it would not give you the right action. Wallmart is actually a great place to buy trout lures.
  6. If you do a google search for "NH fish stocking" It will bring you to the NH Fish & Game stocking report. It shows you week by week where they have stocked. It is a week behind so a place may be stocked already that isn't showing up yet. You can also look at past years reports to see which places they do stock. I'm going to the Exeter River this weekend. They started stocking three weeks ago and the Exeter River isn't on the reports yet. But I'm pretty sure they stocked it sometime this week. Hope I'm right. Trout are cold water species. This is the perfect time to catch them. The colder the water, the more oxygen it holds. Trout need high levels of Oxygen. That is why they are stocked now. Most, if not all of the trout stocked in the Exeter River will die during the summer when the water gets too warm.
  7. The trout in my profile pic was caught with a 1/16 oz black/gold Panther Martin. She weighed 4 lbs. Was a great fight on my ultra lite rod with 4lb. Floro. That was up north at the CT River.
  8. I probably do best with inline spinners for trout. Panther Martin Black with gold in 1/16 oz. is my go to lure for stocked trout around Southern NH. If I'm going somewhere with native trout, I'll up the size to 1/8 oz. If you aren't using an ultra lite rod with low lb. test, you would probably be better off using 1/8 oz.
  9. You are the one that tells me I should bring my phone with me on the boat. Glad I leave it in car. If I go in the water, you are coming with me in your canoe!
  10. Nice. I got both my DX744C and my 705CB from him. Great deals and great service.
  11. Ok. The T3 is the larger of the two. Looks like that is going on 705CB. Thanks for the help guys!
  12. Daiwa T3 is 6.3:1 and the Shimano is 6.2:1.
  13. I've been a spinning rod guy for years but decided to get into baitcast gear this year. I bought 2 new Dobyns rods, a DX744C full handle and a 705CB. I'll be throwing mostly jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and an occasional frog on the DX744 and will be using 40# PP. The 705CB will be used for all my treble hook lures and will be using 12# yo zuri. The 2 reels that I bought are a Shimano Chronarch CI4+ 150 and a Daiwa T3 1016H. I keep going back and forth on which reel I want to put on the DX744 so I was hoping someone could help me make up my mind so I can spool them up. So which reel would you guys put on which rod if you had these 2 combos?
  14. My arsenal consists of a 683SF, 744DX, and 705CB.
  15. Nice fish! I'm going back to Lake Champlain in August. Will be my second time there. Great place to fish. Hoping to catch some large pike and bass there.
  16. The 1st place I'm looking forward to fishing is Cobbetts with Deak. Haven't fished there during Spring. The 1st place I'll probably fish will be the Exeter River in late March for trout.
  17. Just picked up a T3 myself. Couldn't say no to that price.
  18. Ok. I already have 6# yozuri hybrid soft on my spinning rod (Dobyns 683SF). Just bought a Dobyns DX744C and a 705CB to round out my arsenal. Got some 12# yozuri hybrid for 705CB. Want braid on the DX744C. Seems that 30-50 are most popular so I'm leaning towards 40# braid currently.
  19. Hey RW. What would you recommend for line on these 3 set ups?
  20. Were there a lot of sales going on with grand opening?
  21. I'm going to Vegas March 28th to April 2nd. I will be ready to fish after that trip as long as weather is decent.
